"Rohypnol," Melissa said, and sat down with a cup of drink in her hand. She was 33 and an alcoholic.
Alcohol was her favorite, hence a bottle was reserved for her. She also liked pancakes, which she was having currently. Just a bite of the pancake she had had before it was her turn to talk.
Who doesn't like free food?
Everyone present in the room had their winter boots on. It wasn't mandatory to remove the foot ware at the door. But the winter jackets were hung, though some still carried snow to it. The house was dimly lit for the atmosphere and heater was on full power.
Rohypnol is a Date Rape Drug. This drug is also known as Whitleys, Trip-and-Fall, Ruffies, Rophies, Rope, Roopies, Roofies, Roches, Roach-2, Roach, Mind Erasers, Rib, Lunch Money, R-2, Poor Man's Quaalude, Mexican Valium, LA Rochas, Forget Pill, and Circles. It comes as a pill that dissolves in liquids. While under the drug, a person can feel the pain, but once it's out of the human system, they tend to forget the things done to them. Almost, in the all cases it's the same.
Melissa was assaulted by her boyfriend and his 3 friends while in a party that was held in his farm house. By the time she regained the brutal memories, it was too late. Without any evidence, the convicted were let go.
And it happened again.
"I found the love of my life." Daniel said, tears matched that of Melissa. "But she didn't." He looked over the group and smiled, a sad smile and sat down with a sigh. He was 15 and a good baseball player.
Some people cannot take in rejection.
Orange juice for him.
"My dad died," Julie said, in a soft voice. She was wearing a pendent which had her dead father's photo. "My mom was broken very badly. After a long time, I suggested and she got married again. She is really happy now." She held the pendent close to her heart.
A good story, so why come here?
"My step dad touches me. I have tried to say this to my mom but fear he may leave her." Julie said, and took her seat. She was 22 and in an university.
Vine for her.
"My--," Samuel got up next, he did not look well. "Gold fish died." He said. He needed sleep, badly. He was almost dosing. Might be on drugs. Julie pulled him down when he did not say another word. He sat. He was 28.
Coffee for him.
Everybody needed to have a drink.
Everybody needed to talk.
"I'm going to change the world, I know more than my stupid neighbor and his Cambridge degree. I have done some hacking in the past. Mmmm. Also, I know the Aliens are waiting for our signal." Johnny said.
Yes, you guess it right.
He then made a toast to everybody present in the room and gulped in his drink in one go. He was 57 years old and looked smart to start with.
Milk for him.
The last person --
Samuel fell on the ground. He must have had taken a really strong dose of whatever drug that he had. No one moved to catch or lend a hand to him. His coffee cup fell meters away from him like he had intended to throw it.
"He is just asking for attention," Johnny said, and gave a stare in each direction like he was being watched.
The last person to get up, ...he just got up. Took his drink as he was the host of the party and sat down. There was a smile on his face.
They were in a house near a beach where the wind was colder than Pluto. Its owner had put up an add on Kijiji stating that the house was vacant, a farm house with all the required things, and $300 CAD per night. The sea gulls sounds was the only thing heard outside. A lonely house for kilo meters.
"Would anybody miss us?" it was Melissa.
"Do you want to be missed?" Julie asked. A small hope on her face. It was not everyday that people came to a group like this.
"I wanted to kill my boyfriend." Melissa said.
"You could have, why didn't you?" Daniel said.
"Did you kill your love?" turning to face Daniel, Melissa spoke slowly. Alcohol smell coming out of her.
"I might have." A smirk on his face, but he didn't sound confident.
Can you trust a person who drinks an orange juice?
"Time is relative, you could always come back and try killing the person you wanted." Johnny said, he looked up and then down.
"She told me I would be okay," a sip of orange juice. "She told me I would be okay." He tried to hide a lot of his pain, but it seemed useless to pretend. The group session was meant to bring out the past that haunted you.
Melissa was the next to join Samuel.
"You shouldn't have given her alcohol to drink, she couldn't even hold on for few minutes." Julie said. But she did not move to care for either the girl or the boy lying on the floor.
What an irony.
"So, what's the plan?" Johnny asked, but was looking at the TV.
Who was he talking to?
"That's a secret." Said the last man. "It's a Suicide Group after all."
"I like your glasses." Julie smiled. She felt cozy.
Daniel placed his head over his knees, and said "no school tomorrow." His hands touching the floor.
"He is watching you." Johnny said, pointing a finger at the window. The glass window was closed, and the curtains were rolled over.
"Who?" asked the last man standing. He moved from his chair towards Julie.
Johnny fell on the ground and never woke up.
"You look cute," Julie said. She was sleepy now. The man stood next to her. He lifted her chin with a finger. She looked into his eyes.
A crash. It was Daniel.
Another crash. It was Julie.
"I know where you live. Believer me, no one is going to finger you any more, little girl. You just sleep tight."
