Demetrise spat the water she had been drinking back into the cup and erupted in fits of coughs that sounded a lot like laughter. She drank from the cup of water again and wiped her mouth clean with the back of her hand as it subsided "What!?" she finally asked.

"I will pay you of course, you'll never have to be poor ever again". He clarified.

"I'm not getting married to you Mr Edmund" She said in amusement.

"I never asked you to, it will be a fake engagement that will be terminated when I get what I want"

"And what is it you want?"

"Power. I want to take what is rightfully mine and I can only do that when I get married or show signs of it".

Demetrise thought long and hard for the first time about it "I have a black eye"

"Something that can be taken care of"

"I'm poor"

"Your financial position is not important for this job"

"I..."

"You are perfect for the job, plus you'll never have to live off bread-sticks again". He gestured to the table that was missing a basket of bread-sticks, thanks to him.

"I'm sorry, I can't do it" She picked up her bag and headed for the door "Thanks for the meal" She left the diner. She hesitated a bit when she got outside for it was dark and she had nowhere to go.

"Where will you go?" Edmund who had followed her out called out the question she had asked herself.

"Home" She replied and headed left walking like she knew exactly where she was going.

"Demetrise, I know you do not have one"

"I don't even know you"

"That can be fixed"

She stopped. Not because of the well dressed man calling out to her like they were in a soap opera but because of the cold drop of water that hit her nose and the harsh wind that blew past.

"It's going to rain"

"No shit" She replied sarcastically

"Let's go to my car, you'll catch a cold if you try to live off the streets tonight"

She looked at Edmund "No funny business, I know tae kwan do, I will beat the shit out of you"

"Talk about being attractive" He chuckled and agreed "No funny business"

"How much are we talking about?" She asked when they were in the back seat of the black convertible. She tried to ignore the heavily built man of a driver. 'If he's got a driver then he must be pretty rich right?' She asked herself.

"Enough to get a house and live off" He confirmed "It's going to take a couple of days to get the paper work ready" he glanced at her "and you too" He finished.

"What does that mean!"

"You don't think i'm gonna let you follow me to Gwenleria like this do you?"

"Gwenleria? You mean the forbidden kingdom Gwenleria?"

"Forbidden kingdom? is that what they call it now? Well that's where I stay and where I need you to work"

"And you came all the way out here to find a fake bride?"

"The farther the better, my Mother won't have leverage..."

"woah, woah, woah, Why would she need leverage?"

"I'm just saying" He shrugged "she can be quite determined" He looked out the window of the car and made a gesture with his right hand. The car roared to life.

"Where are we going?" She was excited, it wasn't the job she was looking for but it was way better, all she had to do was act for a little while and she'll get lots of money.

"You'll see" Was the only thing he said and the ride was quiet, too quiet. she stared at Edmund who now had his head rested on the seat with his eyes closed. He had brown curly hair that was in his face and she had an urge to move it away. "I can feel you staring" He said

"Who are you?" She asked again and this time he looked at her with his sea blue colored eyes

"Edmund"

"I'm gonna need more than that Edmund" She stressed his name unnecessarily

"I'm Edmund Kahzeel Strafford son of Edmund Strafford the third of Southern Gwenleria" She gave him a clueless look. "It's kind of a big deal over there" He added and she nodded slowly. The car stopped and the door was opened from her side .

She got out and was right under an umbrella a very thin and tall man was holding out for her "Thank you" She said

"We do not thank the chauffeurs, they are doing their job" Edmund came up behind her, holding the small of her back, he led her into the tall building stopping once at the receptionists table. He was given a key with a fancy tag and number 304 written visibly on it.

"A hotel?" She felt quite uneasy and he noticed it for she had never been in a fancy place like this in a very long time.

"It's okay, no one's looking at you here"

"I don't care about that, these guys have been following us for a while now" Edmund looked behind him and saw the guards assigned to him doing their duties.

"Oh well..." He tried to explain.

"Here's the plan" She whispered as they got into the elevator and the bodyguards followed. She gestured with her finger 'You take him and i'll take this guy'

He chuckled "They're with me Demetrise, you can relax"

Her jaws dropped "It's that big of a deal huh?" She said to herself. He unlocked a door with the key given to him and they stepped into the room. Welcoming the warm air in the suite,Edmund shut the door, leaving the guards outside.

"Take off your clothes" Edmund said and it took a while to believe what she just heard, although she did warn herself to believe that Edmund was just like every one else.
