Huh?" Jennifer popped up the question just when Demetrise was falling asleep.

"You know, Edmund your fiance, how long have you known each other? How did you two meet?"

Demetries studied her facial expression. 'Is she trying to pull my legs?' She asked herself. 'If she is then she is a hell of a good actor'. "I thought he told you that already?" Demetries threaded carefully.

"Oh no, he barely tells me anything. We have a strictly formal relationship and we never talk about our personal life. I was nothing but estatic when he told me to come help his bride to prep to meet his family".

'Bingo. I expected no less from a talkative like you Jennifer' Demetrise smiled to herself. Lying wasn't one of her talents so she could as well start training now. "It was a long time ago" she began as the car stopped before an eatry.

"Mhmmm?" Jennifer urged Demetries to go on with her story as they made their way to an empty table.

"Three years ago, Summer, on the beach. I was with my childhood friends. I hadn't seen them in a long time and we were spending the summer together" Jennifer ordered a meal for both of them before returning the menu. "I was re-applying my sun block when a sandy volley ball almost hit me. I was so pissed but when I saw the person who came to retrieve the ball.."

"Was it Edmund?"

"Of course it was"

Jennifer smiled as she noticed that Demetries was starting to get comfortable. The food was brought to the table and Demetrise found it amusing that Jennifer stopped to pray before eating. "I wanted to ask earlier" Jennifer started. "What happened to your eye?" Demetries unconciously touched her right eye as memories of that night began to flood her mind. Oh how her life had changed drastically in a few hours. Jennifer hesitated for a moment before she asked again "Did Mr Edmund do that to you?"

"Oh God no" Demetries replied immediately "Of course not, he wouldn't do that to me" 'I'm getting good at this'

"Thank goodness" Jennifer sighed "I was so scared for you, What happened then?"

"It was just a little accident that involved me and the staircase"

"Oh I'm sorry"

"It's okay"

"I mean I thought he..."

"No, no, really its okay" Demetries was already too tired to lie further. They ate in Silence afterwards and hopped into the car when they were done. Jennifer half expected Demetries to pay for the meal, as the fiance to one of the wealthiest men in Australia but she didn't make any attempt to so she did with the money Edmund gave to her through his Platinum card.
"So, where to next?" Demetries asked as the car roared to life.

"Shopping malls, you need outfits, shoes, hats, scarves, it can be quite cold in Gwenleria. Lingerie,.."

"Wait, why do I need lingerie?" She could have sworn she heard the driver snicker.

"For your honeymoon silly and other adventurous nights to come of course. I heard from a little birdie that it turns Mr Edmund..."

"I don't need a Lingerie!" Demetries cut off before Jennifer could say anything else to make her flustered.

"You go girl, you're almost a tomatoe" Jennifer cheered. They pulled up at the side of the road and Jennifer got out of the vehicle before Demetries could say anything else. They walked into a Boutique and the shopping spree started. Shops after shops, bags after bags, dresses after dresses that Demetries scoffed at. Ridiculous hats, berets and lingeries that she swore she would never wear, better yet, be found in. Demetries had a thing for shoes so it made her day when Jenny as she had come to call her asked her to have at whatever shoe she wanted . A few minutes later, they got back to the hotel, tired and almost paralysed. Demetries hopped out of the car before the doors were opened up for her.

Jennifer gave her a fat brown envelope to give Edmund before driving off. Demetries knew it was her medical reports. She was escorted to the suite by a guard and she wondered how long he had been standing there. There was an akward silence on the elevator that made Demetries itch and she was thankful when she got to the door. A bit scared she was at the wrong one when she heard loud giggles coming from inside.

Demetries opened the door to the sight of Edmund in an intimate hug with a blonde tall woman. She stared for a while, a bit shocked but why should she be? she thought to herself 'Edmund is a man afterall, a fine one at that, of course he'd have a girlfriend. does this mean I've lost my job?'. She walked to the room. Burying the heels of her shoe loudly on the floor to make her presence known. The two lovers broke their hug and the blonde woman stared at Demetries in irritation.

"Ed, who is zhat?" She asked with a thick but alluring french accent.

" Uhm, Aurora, I'd like you to meet Demetries" He looked at Demetries who now stood at the entrance of the bedroom with her arms folded on her breasts and legs crossed. "Demetries, meet Aurora, my girlfriend" He introduced and scratched his head a little. Praying to God that they don't make a scene.

"Eddy dear, could you help me with the shopping bag on the bed?" she completely ignored Aurora who kept looking at her with pure hatred.

"I'll explain everything to you on the phone" She heard Edmund whisper closely to Aurora.

"No, I need an explanation now" She said loudly

"Now's not a good time Aurora, trust me. Come on, I'll walk you to the hotel" Edmund grabbed a beautiful mink coat from the couch and helped Aurora into it.

"I swear to god Ed, you better come up with something good and you better do it fast" She snatched her purse from him and shoved him "I don't need you to walk me" She slammed the door shut after her and her footsteps as she walked away were the only things Demetries could focus on. She had a way of telling a shoe type by the sound it made. Edmund cleared his troath to get her attention and she gave him an innocent look so pure he almost shut his mouth.

"What the hell did you do that for?"

"Do what? Is that your girlfriend?"

"Yeah, Aurora Black"

"Well I didn't know, I was just playing my part"

"That's definitely not the part a fiance would play when she walks in to her husband to be hugging another woman" He scoffed

"Tell me, If you have a girlfriend, why then do you need me?"

"It's my parents, they don't like her"

"Gee, I wonder why. And what makes you think they would like me?"

"They won't, but they can't be too picky. Not after I gave up Aurora for them"

"You conniving son of a bitch"
