Chapter 4
Sheryl was a free-spirited woman in her thirties. However, she felt today was the day to reign in her spirit and be mature for once as she looks at her junior.
Pinching two fingers between the eyebrows, she squints her amber eyes thinking that her hallucinations have quite increased whenever this problematic woman tags along with her.
Oleander stood by a cafe shop, pressing her face by the glassed wall. While on the other side, the customer sitting close to the window wall, gazed at her with a weirded out expression.
"So, you asked me in the middle of the night to open your bank account so you can freely spend it without your parents being notified?"
Clicking in approval, Lea darted her eyes around the inside's interior, "Exactly!"
Sheryl eyebrows ticked in annoyance, "And there I was sitting in my cosy bed tossing and turning thinking what could have happened to you at the wee hour of the night!"
Oleander leaned back from the framed glass and looked at her manager with an innocence brimming smile, "Sorry, I was thoughtless. However, it was urgent. I needed it to purchase a wig and some lenses. "
She blinked when Sheryl glanced at her with an I-will-kill-you-one-of-these-days look.
"What for?" Sheryl asked, having a little feeling of dread.
Oleander didn't answer.
Sighing Sheryl thought to herself that even though she was stuck being a manager of a psychotic person, she was perfectly content as long as there was money involved.
She remembered when she was lost and poor, trying to find a way to survive and fill her stomach, it was at that moment when Oleander passing by a rundown residency area in her shiny BMW stopped and stepped out towards her, who was huddled in a torn down door by the house of someone to keep from the cold.
How could a well-off person drive through the slumps?
She did not want to know.
But at that moment Oleander came and offered a hand, smiling " Come with me and you can have all the money to live comfortably throughout your life."
The fourteen-year-old had provided food, shelter and clothes to a twenty-two-year-old who had nowhere to go. And gave her education to complete and be capable to stand on her own.
Oleander parents weren't even aware of her bringing in a stranger with a mansion that big, someone would forget some part of its area.
Sheryl was indebted to her benefactor but also had grown to care for the weird kid.
She looked back towards Oleander, fondness clear in her eyes, but the way Lea was pressed, again, by the glass, all her nostalgic memory disappeared as she thought about the misfortune of having to babysit her patron.
"You know hun, if you really want a cappa, I am not stopping you."
Sheryl came forward and grabbed oleander by the brown collar. "However, I think you are just delaying your fan-meeting on purpose."
