Chapter Seventeen

~ Happy Birthday ~

I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was balloons and streamers falling from the ceiling. And there was giant portrait of me, that said ‘Happy 19th Birthday, Ria!’

“SURPRISE!!” Everyone screamed as the lights went on. I felt someone spin me around by the waist. “Happy Birthday, darling.” Josh kissed me, while everyone cheered. They even had a spot light on us and everything. 

“Thank you everyone.” I hugged Danielle and Eleanor. Then the all the boys tackled me with hugs and ‘Happy Birthday’s’. 

“Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to Ria. Haaaaappy Birthday to youuuu!” Everyone sang. 

Paul rolled in a cake on a plater, one that maids carry around. “Thank you, Paul.” I hugged him. “You’re welcome.” 

We all had some cake and had a nice chat. It turns out Harry made the cake. Boy, am I proud of him. I thanked everyone again before we started sound check.

The boys sang wonderfully. The band was amazing. Josh and I would glance at eachother and wink occasionally  Danielle and I danced until our feet hurt and until we couldn’t dance anymore. Eleanor cheered from the front row. If you’re feeling down, just her smile itself can make you feel happy again

“Great job you guys. You were all amazing. Danielle, Aria, so brilliant.” Liam smiled. He is so adorable. “And Eleanor your cheering was fantastic.”

“What about you Liam?” Harry patted his back.

“You were amazing. I could feel the vibe!”

“I could feel your energy!”

“Yeah, you were great!”

While everyone was showering Liam with compliments, Josh and I managed to sneak into our change room. I crashed my lips onto his as soon as the door shut. He pushed me against the wall gently and kissed me passionately. 

We stumbled over to the counter, bumping over some clothes racks and a laundry hamper on our way there. He propped me on the counter, knocking over a lamp. Josh straddled my waist, as I tugged on his hair gently.

There wasn’t many days when we could just kiss like this and enjoy eachother’s company. We always have rehearsal. And when I’m free Josh has to record in the studio and when he was free I had to rehearse with Danielle.

We were so into the kiss, we didn’t even realise someone standing in the doorway until we heard someone clear there throat. Well, more than one person.

I pushed Josh off me and hopped off the counter. “Errm.. hi Harry…” I looked down as I spoke. Well this was akward. “What’s up?” Josh asked nonchalantly. 

“Aria, there’s someone here for you.. but if you’re busy…” Harry trailed off, not really knowing what to say. 

“No, no, no. Now’s okay. Who is it?” I uttered. Harry stepped aside and I saw my best friend. 

“CLOUUUUUUUUD.!!” I sqeauled.

“RIAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!” Chloe yelled, as we collided into a hug.

“Oh my god, I missed you so much!!” I hugged her one last time. “What are you doing here?” I haven’t smiled so much since the night Josh asked me to me his girlfriend.

“Haha. Well, we have an extra long weekend from schol, so I’m here for three days!” Chloe uttered.

“Oh yeah. Before I forget…” I wrapped my arm around Josh and rested my head on his chest. “This is my boyfriend, Josh.” I smiled up at him, and he pecked my lips.
