Xerm
There was no hope. Without reinforcements, I was basically a sitting duck. I watched helplessly as the humans charged the metal contraption again, waiting for their golden opportunity to destroy our home. That gave ,me a measly few minutes to come up with something. The experienced fighter was still squirming on the ground, muttering something. This was my chance, I could not let it slip but my senses were still scrambled.
"Are you ready to wat..."
One of the cowardly humans suddenly fell silent midway through talking. His eyes bulged as he looked towards his chest as a pool of blood started to quickly appear. I was still seeing doubles but I could make out the hilt of a dagger sticking out from his chest. He plopped down to the ground, now a lifeless corpse. The rest of his men went into panic mode as throwing knives and arrows began to rain on them. In mere seconds, the ground was littered with bodies. Miraculously, Wade was untouched by any of the projectiles. In fact, all his wounds seemed to have recovered, especially his back. He was on his feet again, ready to face anything.
"You must be Izuel, I presume?" said Wade.
At the mention of the name, several hooded figures emerged from the shadows. I could make out around twenty of them. Each was holding an array of weaponry, all aimed towards Wade.
"You know of me, human?" said one of the hooded people.
"Sure! Who wouldn't know about the infamous terrorist who basically kills without mercy?" responded Wade.
Outraged, one of the hooded man revealed his face. He was an elf, I think. I've never seen one before but I heard they were a race of serene, majestic creatures, who had similar features to that of humans. This particular elf, however bore the traits of a war veteran. His face was full of scars, his intelligent green eyes were wrinkled with years of experience and unease. He was well built and had his hair tied back into a ponytail. His body remained concealed under his ragged clothing.
"You dare speak to me of mercy! Where was your mercy when you slaughtered our children and burned our forests down? The Elves, a proud race have now been forced to a adapt to a life of nomads." exclaimed Izuel.
Wade snickered at the outburst. "You elves are too gullible. Always too easy to manipulate."
It was Izuel's turn to smirk at the cocky remark. "We'll see how good you can manipulate others with an arrow trough that throat. It seems you humans beat us to the home of the Fluxus but the least we could do is take out one of the Sicarius."
Izuel glanced at me with sympathetic eyes and gave me a bow. "My apologies. This could all have been avoided if we had arrived sooner. I offer you his life as compensation."
"Confident, are we? You'll need to catch me first," said Wade ith a grin.
"Molten lava at your back and a dozen weapons at your front? Surely, even you would have trouble escaping alive," relpied Izuel.
"Hey, who said this was gonna be easy."
In the blink of an eye, Wade leaped trough the air, landing directly behind one of the hooded men. Shocked, the man barely had time to register the situation before Wade snaped his neck clean, grabbed his bow and quiver and shot an arrow straight at a nearby enemy. Both hooded men dropped to the ground dead, reavealing more elves.
"Attack!" barked Izuel.
All remaining elves fired all manner of weaponry towards Wade, which bounced harmlessly off his skin. Astonished, the elves regrouped and waited fot Izuel's command.
"It's magic, wait for my command," barked Izuel.
Wade started to strut with utter pride. "You see, dear Izuel, each of the Sicarius..... Well we have our own kind of magic. I mean all of us can use healing magic but other than that, we each have our own magic except for the Jester you see. He is the the only one capable of using all kinds of magic. My magic in particular allow me to enhance my physical abilities, one of which inludes impenetrable skin. You'll need brute strength to outmatch me. It's why I chose to kill the Fluxus first you see, they are one of many specices who possess the strength to kill me and judgimg from the helpless brute on the ground over there, you have no chance against me."
