Amon
What the hell is taking that idiot so long!
The Sicarius had surfaced a few minutes ago and they were not happy I chucked a boulder at them.
"God damn it, give me a minute!" I said as I vaulted over a spear.
The dead were slowly swarming over the rocky platform that I had erected, soon I would be overwhelmed. Wade was directly in front of me, trying to take advantage of the situation. I managed to evade a sweep from his legs by manipulating the air currents to redirect my landing. I landed with a thump and threw my bladed directly aiming for his head. He instinctively tilted his head to the side to avoid being killed. With a sharp push, he widened the gap between us.
"Not too rusty, boss," said Wade as he limbered up.
I heard the shots a little too late so a bullet grazed my forehead, drawing blood. I could see the faint shape of Derek in the distance as he utilized his expertise to the fullest. His bullets were only the finest and I had no doubt in my mind that even from that distance, one of his bullets could break my daggers if I attempted to shield myself with them. I was a little disorientated from the shot but I couldn't afford to black out in that moment. I couldn't rely on my counter part for fear of Amber, the last Sicarius. She was our ace in the hole but she only had one flaw, she needed to fulfil a requirement for her to be able to gain access to her abilities. The Sicarius, who was built as my very own containment plan. That's right, Amber is a cyborg and the only Sicarius not infused with magic at birth. Still, she had one of the most destructive magic of the lot of us and I don't intend to fulfil the requirement for her to use it. The only problem is I couldn't see her.
"Looking for Amber, boss? You always did have a way with the ladies," said Wade sarcastically as he circled me.
I didn't have time to entertain him. The longer this battle is drawn out, the more I'll consider relying on him. In opinion, physical enhancement magic was a waste of energy but paired with killer instincts and endless battle experience, Wade was a huge problem. Wade make a leap towards me, only to be smashed back by a tail that suddenly appeared from nowhere. It was Apache!
Apache's entire body came into view as he slithered onto the platform. The sight of Apache unnerved the whole Sicarius, putting me at an advantage. People tend to make mistakes when they panicked.
Alexis rubbed her forehead with her finger in frustration. "You really went that low huh, Mark."
I knew we were still outmatched against the Sicarius. If they didn't need me alive, they could all have just rushed at me together with their magic. I turned to see Apache with his hands crossed over his chest.
"And where were you, Amon?" he asked.
Both my hands were up before I knew it. "Hey, Don't blame me. Blame the blood-thirsty assassins on my heels."
"Enough!" screamed Alexis.
I was instantly back on guard. If Alexis was going to get serious, them that meant she would use Apex-class spells. They were destructive and the only spells that must be uttered loudly. As a team, we didn't really need to use them so I had no clue what each of the Sicarius could do.
Wade glanced at his superior. "Permission to use Apex magic?"
Alexis was pissed. "Make sure his alive or its your head, Wade."
Wade's shoulders sagged a little before started walking towards us. He ripped off his suit to reveal bristled abs. Every part of his body was toned to the maximum. His magic was physical enhancement so I underestimated his Apex magic. Boy, was I sorry.
