Metal on metal, the clanging of tempered steel against tempered steel. Clang Clang.... Like some twisted metal orchestra was playing an overture for the Dragon gods. Fire, from the dragons above in array of colors. Earth dragons, fire dragons, and stone dragons mostly flew high up above. We didn't want to shift, and most of us didn't. Our men only shifted to try to take care of the ones in the skies. I couldn't shift, my wing wasn't fully healed and I couldn't heal myself. Instead I was charging head on into the hoard of dragon men with their swords drawn. My brothers at my sides, Yoongi and Hoseok leading the charge on either side. I swung my sword at the first rebel to be in front of me. He lurched over and held his gut where I sliced. I kicked him in the gut and he collapsed, too easy. Not all of them would be that simple. I dodged another rebel's swing on me and uppercut him with as much strength as I could muster. He swung at me once he got his balance again and I twirled around him and struck him in the back with my sword. He was hurt but not enough to put him down permanently.

I was about to stab him when an arrow struck his head and stayed there on display. I looked up to see Sapphire on the gate wall with the archers. Amazing aim Sister Sapphire had, I looked to Hoseok who was smiling at her like he was the happiest being in existence. I was suddenly pushed by Jin as two rebels swung at us, I was thankful for being pulled back to my surroundings as I rolled along the ground and got back up only to hurl my body on the rebel who was swinging at Jin.

Jin stabbed him with his sword and the rebel fell to his knees, that's when I got off his back and swung at the rebel to my right who was about to try and cut both of us down. This one was quick though and he managed to bring his sword up against mine, the clang of steel on steel rang through my body as I did all I could to stay focused on the rebel before me. He was larger than me and that usually meant he would be slower, but this one seemed pretty agile for his stature.

"Jimin!" I heard from behind me before I felt an arm wrap around my waist and swing me around. Namjoon had lifted me and moved me as he spun and kicked the larger man right in the gut. The rebel stumbled back a bit and Jin swung his sword, cutting the man's head clear off. I wanted to hurl at the sight of it, but there was just too much going on. This was the effect of war, it was brutal, it was messy, it was death and destruction and I absolutely hated it. Yet it was sometimes needed to protect those we love, and I hated that too...

(Tourmaline's POV)

It seemed like we were listening in silence, like we all knew something bad was going to happen and we were just waiting for the ball to drop. Nothing else mattered in this moment, nothing at all but the soft gargles of the newborn and the silence that seemed to grow with every second. I couldn't sit still, I was fidgeting and Pearl placed her hand on my leg as she held her dragonling.

"Hey, calm... breathe okay? Everything's going to be fine." She whispered as she rocked the prince in her arms. He was slowly falling asleep after feeding.

"I know... sort of. I mean, I think I know." I replied. I knew things would be fine, but also didn't know. It was so difficult to explain and I couldn't make sense of it myself.

"Really? Because this..." She waved her hand at me. "This isn't knowing it will be fine. This is inwardly panicking because you doubt, and have let fear into your mind." She added. I mean, she wasn't wrong exactly. I was having doubts but I figured that was an expected thing, the man I was crazy in love with was fighting and he was still not in perfect condition mentally or physically yet he was out there risking his life. So yeah, I had doubts.

"I just... I don't know the outcome here. What happens if they do succeed? Is it really over?" I asked her honestly, searching her eyes for the answer.
