Contented and calm, Paul lay underneath the cotton covers of his hotel room double bed, gazing at the woman who he'd loved since he was a teenager and who he'd never really stopped loving since. She was awake, but she was in a similarly relaxed state, her eyes were closed but her eyelids flickered every now and then. A beautiful smile graced her pale lips, and her tan toes tickled against his pale bare legs softly.

It had been a long, long time since he'd felt like this. Although he had always enjoyed making love to Linda, he'd almost forgotten how much more pleasure Jenny had been able to provide, and how apparent it was that she derived the same benefits from their lovemaking. They just worked well together. Now, somehow, it seemed as if they had never been apart.

As he carefully watched, she opened her green eyes, and continued to smile, her expression sparkling with beauty and joy. He knew a smile was fixed on his face. He couldn't help but feel on top of the world right now.

"Oops..." she said, smiling still, with a slight giggle.

He kissed her on the forehead, still smiling back. "Oops..."

"Maybe we shouldn't have just done that," she said, flirtatiously.

"Well, it looks like we just did," he responded with a grin.

"Thank you, Doctor Williams," Jenny teased. "I feel much better now."

He laughed at her words, an echo of times long past. "Well, we aim to please, Nurse Dunral."

She laughed back. "Well you did that alright." She closed her eyes and sunk her head into the pillow, raising her arms above her head. "That was.. amazing."

Paul wondered if Jenny had also found their experience to be her best since their previous encounter. But then he pictured her and Patrick making love, and he didn't really want to think about that, let alone bring Patrick into the conversation.

"It's always amazing when there's something a bit risky about it though, isn't it?" she said, sitting up a little.

"What like last time, when my mum walked in on us?" asked Paul.

Jenny giggled. "Yeah. Even though I slept through that part."

"Yeah. I think I wore you out."

"Or what about that time at the park?" Jenny suggested.

Paul thought back six summers to a perfect starry night one May, when he and Jenny had silently crept out of their homes in the early hours, and gone for a romantic walk in the park which had led to more. "Yes, just like that."

He got out of bed, quickly put his trousers which were lying on the floor by the bed back on, and headed back to the desk. He moved the laptop back from where Jenny had pushed it, and went into his music library. He put on a track which he knew would make Jenny think of that night, Rule the World.

He looked at her in awe as the lyrics said all he needed to say. She looked so beautiful, covered only by the white bedsheets, happy and relaxed, freed temporarily from her pressing worries. She took the blanket at the bottom of the bed, and wrapped it around herself. She then walked towards him, and put her arms around his neck.

"When I first heard this song, it made me think of you, and that night," she sighed.

"Same here," he said, putting his hands on her waist, holding the blanket in place.
