I had a wonderful time creating the SFIL series and it took me several years to write all three books. I never intended to write a novel it just kind of happened. The main reason I finished these novels is because of the readers support, comments and votes that I got as well as the numerous private messages I received saying that they enjoyed reading a more realistic romance with Indian characters. I was also touched by many non-Indian readers who spoke about their culture was similar to Indian culture and that there is not enough romance novels addressing this large group. Our concerns, conflicts and challenges differ from the traditional Western romance. Although it differs we are still influenced by it, either because we live in western countries or because the strong influence the culture has globally. My characters always straddle multiple worlds and need to find their own path.
Along the way many of you gave me comments and feedback when I was too wordy, something didn't make sense, etc. After finishing the series I went back through all of your comments and I began the editing process. I also realized the original three books weren't consistent in tone or even the format I used to write it. I never planned on writing a series so you really saw my raw writing with no edits. I've spent the last year re-writing the series, editing it and hopefully making it better. My goal is to get it into shape so that I can publish the series.
I'd love any feedback you have so I can continue to improve my writing. If you've already read the series and have the patience to read it again - I'd love that! If you have never read the series skip the original one and start with the edited version.
