Sunday
Today we last minute invited Meadow to come with us on a trip.
First we went to a lake where there were a lot of ducks. There weren't many near us but we would see heaps on the other side of the lake.
We got to feed them. The food was a mixture of rice and grain.
We then drove an hour to a small town where there was an onsen (public bath).
This is the town.
We did not go into the proper onsen, not that I would have wanted to. Instead, there was a small foot bath next to the river which we put our feet in. The water was hot.
Once we had finished, we dried off our feet and put our socks and shoes back on.
My host mother then took us to a restaurant in the town which was very nice. This is us walking across the bridge to the restaurant .
We all had ramen.
After that we drove back to Shinjo, the town I was staying in. We then went to a talk where a Japanese LGBTQ+ figure was speaking . They were speaking in Japanese so I couldn't understand but it was nice seeing how involved the school was with the event especially because it was a Catholic school.
When that was over my host mother dropped myself and Meadow off at another shopping place. There we were free to do whatever we wanted until we would need to meet up with her again later, this time in a more specific meeting spot.
First we went into a shop called Seria, this was a 100 yen store. There was so much cool stuff I there but once we got to the check out they said they didn't take card payment, only cash.
By this point in our trip a lot of our cash was spent and so we had none, it was especially irritating because we spent an hour in there.
Once that was over went to another show shop and I bought another pair.
We then went to get dinner, trying and struggling to find the mcdonalds. We searched for 10 minutes, eventually finding it in the supermarket.
Whilst in there we ordered using images on the counter. But there was a mix up because I pointed to an ice cream but ended up getting a chicken burger instead. Idk how that happened but I wasn't too bothered. If anything we found it funny.
