"The only impossible journey Is the one you never begin."     - Tony Robins

 Merida's P.O.V

Before I decided to head to the dining hall, I took a detour and subtly went to the kitchen. Afterall, I'll be the one to supply my three little brother's favorite dessert, Which was part of the deal in exchange of helping me with mum's curse.

When I arrived to the kitchen, Everyone greeted me and then went back to work. My eyes scanned the area and saw the pile of empire cookies in one big plate.

I hurried to it and when I was about to take it, I stopped to take a glance at the old lady chopping carrots. Her hand, there was a ring that reminded me of someone.

"Dear lady, To where you'll go, shan't you bear the heavy burden you're feeling."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion until she turned her head to face me.

My eyes widened and took a step back. "Y-you're the witch!" I exclaimed but then lowered my tone right away. "Wh-what are you doing here, working in the kitc-"

"hush hush hush now, I'm glad my gift arrived and, the idea of giving it to your people, was fantastic! Now I have more customers!" She said in a cheerful manner and gave a chuckle.

I saw  her eyes glanced at my necklace after she stopped laughing.  "My... I have something that would come along with that." She said as she put down her knife and then started to take something out from her pocket.

I tilted my head out of curiosity but then she suddenly blew a powder to my necklace that created an impact.

I coughed out while waving the smoke away. "Wh-what was that?!"

"Look!" She said, and saw her pointing it to my necklace.

I looked down to see the carved lines of the necklace glowed in blue. "Wh-what...is.."

The color, seemed to be so alluring, until it died.

Before I was about to ask again, she beat me to it. "You're necklace is now filled with an elixir, but instead of liquid that can easily be spilled, Only you, will be able to use the power within it, and use it to save someone, or yourself." She explained.

I took my necklace, and held it tight, It felt different than before. It felt, light.

I raised my head to look at her and then jumped to a hug. "Thank you." I whispered. She was surprised by my sudden action, which caused the room to be filled in awe.

..........

The meal at the dining hall was awkward, Everyone was silent, but I'm glad to see my little brother's stuffing their faces with the dessert I brought. same old favorite.

My whole family then accompanied me, heading to the pier. I could see the townsmen waving their goodbyes at me. I waved back and gave a good bid of goodbye.

"I'll come back soon, everyone!" I screamed.

I had to make sure that it's nothing to worry about.

My three brothers gave me a whimpering hug. I kneel down at their level and cupped their cheeks, ruffling their hair to lighten them up. "Listen, Hamish, Hubert and Harris..." I exhaled as I face them.

"Stay strong so that you will be able to protect mum and dad. You might take over the kingdom someday." If I won't be able to return home. I held back the tears and smiled.

I gave them a hug, hoping that I'll be able to deal with this and finish fast so I could return home early.

When the hug broke, Hamish handed me a cookie.

I accepted and took a bite of it. Until tears started to form at the corner of my eyes. They hugged me again, and this time, I hugged them tighter.

I want to return as soon as I can and be able to play with them again.

I stood and turned to both of my parents. I could see they were holding back their tears.

"Mom, Dad, It's not like I won't return." I said casually, But deep inside, I'm scared and nervous. I don't know what it'd be like in Berk. Will the people be even twice barbaric and scary? With the dragons and all.

However, Hiccup didn't look like one to be scary.

Hiccup.....

He's the Chief, Atleast I'll have someone to guide me. However, I don't even know the prince. Wait, If he's the chief, Will I be marrying his son? B-but, He looks too young to have a son.

The letter lacked information about who might be the suitable suitor for me. If he's the Chief, Maybe his brother then? But I don't remember him mentioning any siblings. I guess in the end, We'll just see.

"We know dearie, It's just, Father will miss you so bad, He won't be able to play fight with someone as challenging as you." Father wiped a tear and gave me his big hug.

Mum joined in too.

The warmth of the hug, and how I feel safe and secure being like this, is something I want to return to right away.

Hiccup's P.O.V

It's almost midnight, The gang and I had already set up the place for safety, and to witness if what was said was true, that there were unknown ships in the dock.

I still can't shake off what mom and I discussed. About that Princess's mom... Was her bestfriend.

Gah.

Out of all days too, she had to send someone in Berk, under such circumstances, will be another trouble to handle.

I wouldn't know how this will go when Princess Merida arrives.

This is all too weird.

Why, in that strange land, does she have to take in someone she thinks that is suitable for me. To be honest, in all rationality, That girl seems childish. Yes, she seems fun to be with, but I'm not sure if she could be able to handle the affairs on how to handle a clan and strengthen it.

I suddenly feel sick, with my head aching. Problems are piling up. In a few days, we have to expand our search for food. I'm still thinking of a way to feed the livestock. The packed feeds for them will last for a while, But under this weather and circumstances, It'll slowly go downfall.

And to think we still have to host a guest that will be arriving soon. I told mom to cancel it, but she seems already fixated with the idea that I might need help. ON WHAT.

This is not what I need right now.

Another problem to arrive. What I need is a solution.

I can't handle this all alone.

I heaved a sigh as I snapped back to reality while spectating the pier on the empty shore part.

It's cold and windy, It seems like another vast storm is coming.

The sky, darkened that normal, as thunderous clouds formed.

What is this....

I could feel something seemed off aside from everything. I looked to the other members and nodded at them. It seems to me that this won't be just another hoax.

To be continued.
