Liam's POV

I pull my body out of my bed,

Today is different. I can feel it.

I brush my teeth, put on clothes, all that good stuff before heading out the door.

I lean back in my black mustang, thinking. What is so different about today?

I shrug it off before meeting my best friend, Rowan Walker.

"He- woah you good?" He subtly sniffs me.

"Something is off about today." I declare, his eyebrows lift,

"You think you'll find your mate today?" He asks curiously.

"I'd rather not leave it to just that. I've been waiting four years Rowan." I tell him as we walk into the school. My head snaps to the left, looking around my beta.

"What's up man?" I slowly sniff the air.

"She's here." I tell him, more excited than I meant to.

"Really?" He's shocked and blinks a few times,

"Yeah." He nods, patting my back and silently shows his gratitude.

The bell for lunch blares loudly and I pack up my things quickly.

Where is she?

A smell of Cotton Candy from a distance. Storm, my wolf begs to be let out to see our mate but we're at school.

"Go, Liam!" Rowan pushes me, probably noticing me sniffing the air. I give him a sideways smile before running off in the direction. The scent fades and reappears; a girl with black hair and baggy clothes walks past me.

That's her!

I watch her for some time as she walks to the door to lead outside. Rowan tilts his head quickly.

"Go."  he mouths and I go after my mate.

"Hello." She jumps and looks up at me, I look around her, she's studying?

"Hi..?" She says hesitantly, I point to the spot next to her,

"Do you mind?" She shakes her head and goes back to studying. I take the spot next to her, placing my right hand behind her to keep myself up, she noticed and straightens her back to avoid touching me. Storm whines in the back of my head and I peer over her shoulder.

"What is your name?" I ask her, she turns to me, looking up at me with her light brown eyes.

"Savannah Kain." She tells me, looking back down. I take this moment to subtly sniff my mate. Storm barks and pants happy to smell his mate.

"What's your name?" She says, not looking up at me.

"Liam. Liam Knight." I tell her.

I spent the lunch with my mate, we didn't speak much but I was glad to be able to be near her and the cotton candy was delightful to both me and my wolf.

I decide to walk her to her classroom and she occasionally looks up at me curiously like 'why are you still here man?'

"I wanted to walk my new friend to her classroom." She nods slowly, as if I answered her question.

"Well, this is my class." I look up,

"Okay, my class is next door. I'll talk to you later?" She shrugs and waves bye before ducking into her classroom. I linger by the door for a little, watching my mate walk in her baggy clothing. I sigh with content before walking to my class next to this one.

Halfway into class, a cotton candy smell passes by the classroom, I snap my head to the right and look at my mate, shaking something in her hands then swallowing. I watch her as much as I can through the window on the door.

Were those pills?

Storm whines and places his paw over his snout and I look back at the door.

The school day ends and I find Savannah walking to her car,

"Savannah!" She looks up at me, as I run to her. She steps away from me a little. I look at her car, it's a nice car, it's a yellow on black Chevrolet.

"Hi?" She says,

"How was your day?" I ask her. She nods,

"It was okay. How was yours?" I nod

"I got to meet you so pretty good." She awkwardly nods and then opens her car door. We stand in awkward silence before I wave and head over to Rowan who is standing by my car.

"I see you two are talking." I smile a little and nod,

"Yeah. Oh shit!" I turn around and run to Savannah's car and knock on the window.

"May I have your phone number?" I hold out my phone to her and she types her number in my phone.

"Thanks! I'll text you." I jog back over to Rowan, watching her drive off; I wave and she waves back.

"You got her number? Wow. That's bold, even for you." I chuckle at him.

"There's a pack meeting today right?" Rowan nods.

"It's about the new Luna." I curse under my breath, knowing they're going to want a move on to get her in the pack.

"She doesn't seem like the type to just..." He trails off waving his hands, I nod,

"Yeah, I know." I reply to him, looking at her car turn the corner.

"Liam, when is the new Luna going to be introduced?" My father, Clyde Knight, asks.

"It is going to be a while.." I say looking over at my beta.

"What do you mean, 'a while?'" My father asks again

"The Luna is what you would call an introvert. Hell, she backs away from the Alpha when he gets near." Storm whines remembering how she moves away from our touch.

"Very well. We want her to willingly join the pack, not by force, but make it snappy." I bow to my father.

"As ordered Father." He bows and the meeting is finished.

"Finally! I want to know what she's like. What's she like Liam?" My bubbly mother, Harper Knight, asks.

"She's absolutely beautiful, she has a cute voice and her hair is jet black. Her eyes are the color of Almonds. She has a very soft voice that is soothing to listen to and she smells like Cotton Candy." I say, telling my mother what I know about Savannah.

"What's her name?" She smiles up at me.

"Savannah. Savannah Kain."
