Ch.14

  Then Lloyd got kicked in the face as the crowd cheered. And me being held by my arms behind my back by two guys in matching school football team jackets. Todd was in a cage barking his head off trying to get out.

  -Woah woah woah. Hold the phone here. Let me start over. Starting from this morning. I came back to my apartment to check on Todd and to pay the rent. About an hour later I heard a knock on my door. Lloyd was there at my door wearing his trademark green hoodie. His hand were shoved into his black pants pockets. The shirt he was wearing was a regular white T-shirt. His hair was a usual mess, and yet, it suited him. His emeral green eyes held joy and calmness. He gave me a sheepish smile. He hasn't been here since he told me the news.
  "Uh, hey Lloyd. What brings you up here? Don't you have some ninja stuff
o do? Sighning atougraghs, saving damsels in distress, and earning awards from the mayor."
  He gave a light chuckle.
  "Hahaha, that's funny. Uh, no. Not today.  Can I come in?"
  Lloyd pointed inside.
  "I don't know Lloyd. Can you?"
  I moved aside so he could come in. Todd was next to his water bowl.
  "Hey, who's this little guy," Lloyd asked as he bent down next to Todd. The pup didn't even react. He just sat there staring at Lloyd with his alarming blue eyes.  Not moving or anything. I could tell it was kinda creeping him out.
  "Um, yeah. Right. So, do you have work today," Lloyd said as he stood up and looked at me.
  I closed the door so that way, the occasional hobo wouldn't waltz on in.
  "No, not really. It's my day off. And that 'little guy' is my pal, Todd. Come here Todd!"
  Todd immediately moved out of his trance and ran to me. I picked him up and he started to lick my face.
  "Okay, cool. Hey, so I was wondering if you wanna," he scratched the back of his head, " I don't know, uh, walk around the city with me?"
  He looked down on the floor to avoid eye contact.
  "Yeah, sure that'll be nice. But on one condition. "
  Lloyd looked back up with a confused face.
  "I'll come along only if Todd can come with us. I don't wanna leave him alone here. He's just a puppy."
  "Yeah, of course he can come along. I'm sure he like that. Won't you huh," Lloyd said to Todd in a baby voice.
  Todd quickly stopped licking my face and gave Lloyd a intense stare. Lloyd stood there uncomfortably.
  "Just let me grab my new coat. Okay?"
  Lloyd nodded as I put Todd down.  I walked into my room with no door and grabbed my new coat. It was a simple grey sweater with darker strings for the hood. I wore a pair of jeans that had a lot of holes in them. My shirt was black that had torn edges along the ends of it. I know, I need new clothes. But once again, I'm poor 😢. But I did get Todd a new collar. It was a leather brown collar with his name on it. Anywhooo, I can back out of the room and saw Todd still giving Lloyd that stare. Kinda funny.
  "Okay, you all ready," I asked.
  "Course I am. Are you?"
  "Yep. Come on Todd."
  Todd started to follow after as I opened the door. Me and Lloyd walked out of the apartment.  Then we walked down the street. Just looking at the scenery.
  "So.... how did you know about me being..... you know what?"
  "You mean you being the green? Uh, just a hunch. "
  "A hunch," Lloyd echoed.
  "Yep, and I'm right. So... how long have you been the guy?"
  "Oh, I don't know. Since I was 10 years old."
  "Since you were ten? Damn, how old are you?"
  "Um.... I'm 18 years old. Gonna be a Senior next school year."
  "Really? I'm gonna be a Senior too."
  "Cool. So how did you end up here," Lloyd asked as I pulled out a wallet.
  "Hmm? Oh, I had nowhere else to go," I said as I looked through the brown wallet.
  "Okay, so- hey! That's mine!"
  Lloyd swiped his wallet out of my hands.
  "Sorry, couldn't resist. It was just peeking out of your pocket, it seemed too tempting."
  Lloyd started to scowl.
  "But hey, if it wasn't me, it would've been somebody else."
  Todd was ahead of us by a foot. He sniffed through the little cracks trying to find something interesting.
  "How come I haven't seen you at school?"
  "I've been home schooled most of my life. My Mom decided 'it would be best if I went out and socialized for my last year."
  "Heh, nice."
  Then we heard a can move from the  alley. We both stopped and looked. Todd started to fluff out his fur and growled. I walked a bit close to the shadows of the alley.
  "Hey, is someone there," Lloyd called out.
  Then we saw three figures walk out.
  "Well, well, well. What do we have here? ," the big middle figure say.
  "If it isn't the Garmadork and a- why, it's a little puppy," right guy said.
  "Looks more like a mutt to me, " left guy said.
  The three people were Brad, Justin, Dallas. Each wore the football team school jacket.
  "Careful," I said,  " I bite."
  "Oh no, she says she bites."
  Then all three guys burst out laughing. Todd took a step forward.
  "What do you guys want," Lloyd asked.
  "I guess we could ask you the same question. And don't even think of leaving yet. The party just started. "
  I turned and saw three other guys behind us. Then Brad opened a door that led to a abandoned building.
  "Why don't you two come here a sec, there's something I wanna show you."

  Hey guys. I know, 'What are you thinking? Leaving us hanging like that? First, you start where Lloyd gets beaten the shit outta him. Then you end the damn with Brad forcing them to go into a abandoned building. And they don't even fight yet! Why Howard why?' Well, I thought that I can publish the chapter around Christmas time. As a gift from me to you.
  And no, I am not procrastinating. Trust me I'm not...... Okay, maybe a little. But I will make it up to you. By showing you my dog, Speckles.

Don't touch my Speckles de widdle weckles, don't even look at my Speckles. Cause he's my Speckles. If you are not me, then he is not your Speckles, he's my Speckles! Speckles, da widdle weckles. My Speckles.
