ethan's pov

emma and i are cuddling on the couch, watching a movie. my mom walks into the living room. "hey guys." she says to us. "hi mom." i smile at her. "i'm going to go grocery shopping, if you want anything message me." we both nod and wave bye as she leaves out the front door. finally, i can get time alone with emma and not have my mom around. i love my mom but i need time away from her.

emma and i finish up the last 15 minutes of the movie. "hey you wanna go to my room?" i whisper in emma's ear. she nods. we both walk into my room. emma lays down on my bed then i come in and hover my body over hers. i use my elbows to stabilize me over her, i put most of my weight on my right though. i lean in and kiss her. she deepens the kiss and pulls me down so i am basically just laying on her. she pulls my shirt off. once she gets my shirt off, i flip us so she is straddling over me. she kisses down my neck and gives me a hickey. she giggles when she sees it. "i'm gonna get you back." her and i both giggle then i take off her shirt and begin to kiss down her neck and leave 2 small hickeys.

as emma and i are kissing, i feel her slip her tongue into my mouth. i follow her lead and do the same. as we are kissing more and more. emma tugs at my sweatpants strings and i take them off. as more time passes the more intense things get. i slip off her shorts. so we are both have only our undergarments on.

emma straddling over my body feels so so nice. emma hands are running up and down against my stomach, her acrylic nails feel so nice against my skin. i have my right hand on emma's ass and my left on her thigh rubbing up and down. i pull away and stare into her eyes and she stares into mine. "i love you." i say to her. she smiles, giggles then looks away from me, she is blushing. i turn her face and begin kissing her once again.

"hey ethan. i'm h- holy shit." my mom walks in on us. "mom!" i yell at her on accident. she closes the door. emma and i stare at one another. we both don't know what to do. she gets off me and throws back on her shirt and her shorts and i put my sweats and my shirt back on. i grab emma's hand and pull her out the living room with me.

"hey mom." i say very awkwardly. "ethan, emma." she nods at both of us. emma and i both sit down on the couch. i feel so anxious and weird now. like what do i say to my mom.. as we are all silent. i hear emma start to giggle. "sorry. in tense situations i laugh." she tries to pull herself together. "ethan and emma. do i need to have the talk with you guys?" my mom asks. em and i both start to chuckle. "mom, we haven't had sex before. and i am pretty sure we both have had the talk." i tell my own mom. "but are you guys planning on it? because you know unprotected sex leads to babies or std's." my mom sounds so serious with us. as my mom finishes her rant emma's phone rings. "oh sorry." she steps away leaving my mom and i on the couch.

"ethan. i like emma but i don't know it she's a keeper." she whispers to me. i feel my entire body stop. i stare my mom for a second. "mom.. i love emma and she makes me so happy and she makes me feel confident and she makes me laugh uncontrollably and she is always there for me. when i was in the hospital she stayed with me all night when she could have chosen to go home. she has been here taking care of me for the past few days. if you do not see how amazing she is, clearly you have not met her fully." i defend emma. my mom's jaw drops. "you clearly love her ethan. i was testing you to see how you would react. you and emma are my main ship." her and i laugh. emma returns. "that was my mom, she just decided to come to LA, she is at my apartment. so i just told her to come over her. i want her to meet mrs. dolan." emma smiles at my mother. "i am so excited to meet her." my mom smiles at emma.

*emma's mom arrives*

"hi mom." she hugs her mom. "hello mrs. chamberlain." emma's mom hugs me. "hi ethan." she says. "you must be ethan's mom." emma mom and my mom smile at one another hug. then they both go and sit outside at the chairs and chat. emma and i smile at our moms interacting. emma and i just chill on the couch, watching a tv show.

after about 20 minutes outside our moms walk in. "hey guys." my mom says as they both sit down. emma and i sit up and stare at one another. "ok so emma." emma's mom sits down next to emma and places her hands on emma's. "mrs. dolan told me about walking in on you two." emma and i stare at one another again. "mom we weren't having sex. we were just kissing...." em tries to calm her mom. "emma you were almost naked." her mom sounds hella serious. "can i talk to you in private? thanks." she stands up and brings her mom outside to talk. damn. she looks pissed.

"mom really?" i am kinda pissed at her. "ethan she deserves to know." she responds. "but maybe from emma telling her, not you." she overstepped. "ethan, i think emma should go home." she pats my leg. "no. i am an adult, i love you but your suggestions are not what's best for me right now." i stand up to walk away. "ethan wait." i look back at her. "i love you too." i turn around and walk away. i am pissed at the world right now. i have not idea why i just am.

emma's pov

"can i talk to you in private? thanks." i say very smart ass like to my mom. she is pissing me off right now. i stand up and bring her outside to the backyard to chat.

"mom." i look at her. "emma i do not want you having sex with a boy who you have know for like 6 months." she looks at me like i'm a 7 year old again. "mom, we were not having sex! we are not planning too, we have talked about it before and we both agreed to walk into marriage." i try to explain to her. "oh so now you are planning to marry this boy?" she raises her voice. "mom, he is not just some boy! i love him, he treats me right. why can't you just see that?" i try to calm down and not yell back at my mom.

"emma, he might break your heart and your heart to so fragile." she places her hand over my heart. i take a step back away from her. "mom, are you just scared because of what happened to you and dad?!" i kind of yelled, which i didn't mean to do. but i am upset and frustrated and confused.. "emma what happened between me and your father is completely different!" she yells back at me. "then stop thinking of love as just a way to break your heart." i say to her.

she stops and thinks deeply about what i say. she goes to say something then sits down on one of the chairs. "emma." she says quietly. "mom i am going inside. i need some time. i love you." i walk into the house and see only mrs. dolan sitting in the living room. ethan must have walked away. i smile at her as i walk over to ethan's room.

his door is shut. i knock and wait for a response but nothing is said. so i just walk into his room and close his door after i walk in. she is laying face down on his bed. "babe." i walk over and sit down on the bed next to him and rub his back. he turns his head and looks at me. "i love you." i say to him, he grins and mumbles "i love you too." back to me. she smile back at him. he is so cute. i wish i could just stare at him all day for the rest of my life.
