(I haven't written in a while because I've been so stressed out about school tests. But I'm on winter break now, so you'll be getting a lot of updates. On with the story...)

I slept the whole way to the hospital. I'm not sure how I was able to do that with all the stress, but it really helped me calm down.

When we got there, Roger lightly nudged my shoulder to wake me up. "Are you ready?" He asked.

"As ready as I'm gonna get," I replied. I knew I was probably gonna end up crying and running out of the building, due to an overload of stress, but I still had to try. I promised Joseph. And Roger.

Roger nodded his head and got out of the car. I got out of my side and waited for him to get Magnolia from the backseat before we walked to the front door. I looked down at my feet as we approached the entrance. I already felt like running back.

"Hey, don't worry. He's gonna love you like the other kids the moment he sees you." Roger said, opening the door with his free hand. I nodded my head and walked in. When he returned to his spot next to me, he continued, "Do you know if Joseph told your dad who you are?"

"No, he just told him he's bringing a special visitor. Dad doesn't know it's me." I replied. It felt weird calling him dad when I've never even met him and I don't have the best experiences with dads in the first place.

(A few minutes later...)

We were all waiting outside the room in the hall. Joseph, Pauline, Roger and I. We were waiting for the nurse inside to finish talking to him before I came in. We were all completely silent, minus my nervous breathing.

Roger reached over and grabbed my hand. "Don't be nervous, he's a good guy, he doesn't hate anyone." Joseph said. That was a slight relief.

"When I first met him, I had accidentally broken his favorite flower vase. He was so nice about it though, and laughed it off." Pauline added.

I looked down at my feet. My throat started to clump up as I felt my eyes puff up. Damn it. Not now.

The nurse walked out of the room and turned to Joseph. "He's doing great today, you can go visit him now. Just remember not to be too loud."

"Yes of course." Joseph said.

"Thank you," Pauline whispered. They both walked in the door. I heard their voices talking. One of them was weak. I couldn't find myself being able to move, though.

"Kellen, if you don't do this, you're gonna regret never taking the chance. You know that." Roger whispered. He leaned over and kissed my hairline.

I nodded my head. "Right, you're right." I sighed, trying not to panic and cry. Roger nudged me a little bit, and I walked into the door frame. He stood right behind me.

I looked over at the bed. They were all looking at me. I couldn't take my eyes off the man in the bed. He was maybe in his early 60's, but his eyes sunk in. His skin was pale and he was skinny, making him look like he should be older.

He couldn't take his eyes off me either. "I... I recognize you, you look so familiar." He said. His voice was scratchy and hard to hear.

"You know her." Joseph said. "A long time ago, and you haven't seen her since."

"I don't understand." He whispered to Joseph.

Joseph took his father's hand. "It was the night of a party. You never told me why you were so upset, but it was because she was never gonna be seen again. Remember?"

He turned to look back at me. His jaw dropped and his eyes filled with tears. "Beatrice?"

"I..." I couldn't get the words out. I turned to Roger, who nodded his head. Turning back to my dad, I said, "I go by Kellen now." I coughed a little. Still have a cold.
