Chapter 9:
-Ricks POV-
"I need to be brave" I whispered quietly.
"You won't be." The figure said. "how can you be brave if you can't even protect your friends? You will never be brave."
The figure laughed again after its last word.
I was mad. "You don't know that."
The figure walked into a light. "I do Rick. You aren't brave."
I wasn't about to be told I'm not brave by this insane man.
"Rick!" Mark said. "we found Andy."
I turned around to look at Mark and then back at Ray Rogers.
"Fuck he's gone."
"Rick?"
"Oh yeah, coming" I said slowing walking up the stairs.
-Andy's POV-
Someone coughed loudly waking me from a nap.
Dried up tears where on my face.
"Andy? Buddy where are you?"
I knew it was Mark calling me
I didn't want to be found so I hid behind a plastic cover that was hanging from the wall.
"Andy. I know you are there. You always suck at hide and seek any ways." Mark said lifting the plastic.
He's right I sucked at it. I was always going first when we played as kids.
"Come on." He put his hand in front of me to help me up.
I ignored his hand and got up by myself.
"Ok then." Mark said walking back towards the door.
He was calling for Rick.
I looked over at Joe. I felt so bad. I made him bleed like this.
"Joe." I whispered. "I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking. I saw something down there and I froze. And when you come up to me I freaked out, I didn't know it was you."
He looked at me and coughed up some blood. "ugh. It's ok, I shouldn't have done that anyways. At least we know how strong you are." He laughed at the last part. "man, wasn't I wrong about you. You are one touch son of a bitch you now that."
I laughed. "well you are too if you took that punch and you aren't crying about it."
He laughed and put his hand on my shoulder. "Shall we go and see whats taking Rick so long?"
"Yeah." I laughed again and we walked over by Mark where he was standing waiting for Rick to come upstairs.
"So Rick." Mark said. "why out of breath and you look like a ghost."
Rick did look like a ghost.
"Well." he started off saying but he stop to catch is breath. "I was about to walk up, but something stopped me from doing so."
We looked at him with a blank stare.
"What stopped you?" Joe asked.
"That good old man Mr. Rogers." He sounded so sarcastic.
"You saw him?" I said.
"Yeah, it said I wasn't brave and he just said shit."
"Well shit man." Joe said. "you ok?"
"Pfft, I'm fine. The question is are you?" He said pointing to Joe's face.
"Yeah. I shouldn't have tapped Andy when he was in shock." He said moving his jaw.
I felt uneasy like someone was watching us or I was about to throw up.
"Clunk."
We turned around to see what fell instead of seeing what fell we saw something else.
"Oh my gosh." I whispered.
