Chapter 10: Tenn's job(s)

The sound of the front door being opened was heard by Riku as he was laying on Tenn's bed reading a book about biology and the science behind animals, plants and other stuff to do with biology.

Knowing who it could be that opened the door, Riku's head perked up like a puppy would do waiting for it's owner and quickly placed the book down on the bed before rushing to the front door. 

When Riku arrived at the living room entrance which lead to the living room and was attached to the kitchen and right beside the kitchen was the front door, Riku could see Tenn putting his bag down and taking his shoes off.

"Okaeri Tenn-nii!" Riku burst out rushing over to the front door and carried on watching Tenn as he took off his other shoe. 

"Tadaima Riku." Tenn chuckled. "It's almost like you're a little puppy awaiting for it's owner."

"Ehehe, I'm just excited to see you back home that's all." Riku giggled awkwardly, it was a little embarrassing getting compared to a puppy he thought.

When Riku mentioned how he was excited to see Tenn back home, Tenn's smile turned into a small but visible frown. "Ah Riku. About me being back home, I got to leave soon." Tenn said, his voice sounding quiet, not wanting to disappoint Riku. 

However, even with his quiet voice and afraid to disappoint Riku, Riku's happy mood drop when he heard what Tenn said.

"Ehhh, why? Where are you going? You don't have a girlfriend do you? Will you be leaving me? What happens if that girlfriend is nothing but a liar and only I can be the one to make you happy?" Riku whined, he watched as Tenn picked up his bag and walked past Riku. 

What Riku didn't notice when Tenn walked past him was that Tenn's face turned bright red as soon as Riku mentioned about a girlfriend, he never had one for a start and also he was always too busy for relationship. 

"I do not have a girlfriend Riku." Tenn stated with a stern voice but his lip was trembling when he said the word 'girlfriend'. "And I'm only going to go to my job because my shift starts soon, I need to get money you know? How else will I pay for food and essential if I don't have any parents living with me?"

"Ah right sorry...." Riku bowed his head down afraid if he might made Tenn angry but as soon as Tenn's words were repeated in his mind, the word 'job' gave a spark to Riku. Does that mean work? As in going somewhere and getting money and working with other people Riku thought in his head. 

Tenn noticed that Riku's head was hanging low for a while now and the way he apologise sounded like he was almost going to cry which made Tenn feel guilty on hurting his little brother's feeling like. When he was about to apologise for sounding mean even though he was just embarrassed for when Riku said 'girlfriend', Tenn was stopped as Riku unexpectedly ran towards him and gripped tightly onto both of his hands. 

Tenn was taken by surprised with his bag being dropped onto the floor when Riku suddenly gripped onto his hands like that with no context whatsoever. 

"Ne ne, Tenn-nii can I come with you?!"

"Eh?" 

"I want to help you at your job, I promise I behave and be good. Pleaaase Tenn-nii. Please, please, pleaaase."

Riku carried on pleading and pleading getting closer to Tenn's face until Riku's voice saying 'please' was stuck in his head and was now going round in circle around Tenn's head, shaking his head slightly trying to snap out of Riku's innocent brainwashing tactic, Tenn finally spoke in defeat. 

"Alright! Alright! Alright!" Tenn shouted out. "Please, no more. You can come okay? I think the manager wouldn't mind anyway." 

"Waaiii!!! Thank you so much Tenn-nii! I will definitely be good!" Riku cheered hugging Tenn without a warning making both of them fall onto the ground.
