"Hi, I'm Leia." The fans gasped as I stood in front of the screen holding a microphone. They weren't expecting me here at the first showing of Everybody's Everything. "You probably know who I am. I would just like to say a few things, if that's okay with you?" I paused. No one protested. "So I know you all love Gus, and his music, cause you're here to see his documentary, on its opening night, no less. I can try to explain in my own words what Gus thought of you guys. He didn't think of you as fans, or even friends. You guys were family, you still are. He loved each and every one of you guys so much. I know he personally would've wanted to share Come Over When You're Sober, Part 2 with you himself. He couldn'tve, as he only had about two songs completely ready before he died. However, he did record Leanin' the day before he passed, and he was so proud of it. And I know some of you guys are aware of the theories about his death that are floating around."
I was referring to Mackned killing Gus. Which I know he did. The fans must've known, as I blocked Mackned on every social media and got a restraining order on him. Liza felt the same way, just less strongly. "I know he also personally would've liked to share the album for this documentary. But he can't have, so me and Liza and his friends have been working tirelessly to release his stuff in his memory. Like Everybody's Everything. With that, I just wanted to say thank you for all the support you've given him. I know he's grateful. And we are too. Thank you so much for keeping his memory alive. Enjoy the movie."
I walked away and exhaled after I got outside. Fuck, that took a lot out of me. I lit a blunt. I still smoked and did drugs. I also got a centipede tattoo on my arm, along with a heart under my eye. A girl looked at me. "Leia?"
I smiled. "Hi."
"Uh, I'm Amanda. I... I just wanted to say you made a beautiful speech."
"Thank you." I still haven't gotten used to the fans approaching me, two years later.
"I also... Well, I have a present for you." She held a gift bag and handed it to me.
I opened it. They were three watercolor paintings of his albums: COWYS part 1, COWYS part 2, and Everybody's Everything. They were gorgeously done. Even in watercolor still capturing the details of the album covers. I teared up and wiped my eyes. "T-Thank you, this really means a lot to me. They're amazing."
"Oh. You're welcome."
I hugged her. "Can I take a picture with you? I'd like to post about it."
"O-oh, sure."
We took a quick selfie together. "I don't wanna keep you waiting. Go enjoy the movie. Oh, and I'll make sure Liza sees this. It's gorgeous. Thank you so much."
Amanda nodded and smiled. "Thank you." She walked off back into the theatre.
I exhaled a cloud of smoke. "Well, you fucking did it, Gus. You're everybody's everything."
