"They gonna be chanting my name real soon. Just you wait, you're gonna hear Gothboiclique." Gus looked in the mirror. His fingers combed through his hair. "What if they don't like me? Like, they seen me in my music videos and I seem so perfect but I'm really just insecure."
"They'll love you, Gus."
"I hope so." He pulled a pill bottle out of his pocket and popped one.
"You gotta stop doing that."
"I'll be okay, baby, I always am."
I ran my hands down his arms. "I worry about you."
"I know." He got a phone call and answered it. "Hi, Momma." He put it on speakerphone.
"Hi, Gus. Getting ready to perform?"
"Yeah. Gonna start off with Better Off (Dying) cause they like it." He put on a bit of eyeliner.
"I wish I was there to spend time with you."
"It's okay, I know you got work. Besides, I got Leia."
"Oh, Leia Anderson? She's your age, yeah?"
"Few months younger, yeah. But like, I'm dating her. Momma, she's my girl."
"Aw, my Peepers, that's amazing! I remember you used to have the biggest crush on her-"
"She's standing right here." Gus turned a scarlet shade.
"Oh, hi Leia!"
"Hi, Liza."
"How are you?"
"I'm pretty okay."
"Keeping my son on a leash?"
I laughed. "No one can control him."
"I've tried, believe me. He's impossible."
"Guys!" Gus muttered. "Momma, I gotta go, the concert starts soon. I love you."
"I love you too, Gus. Bye, you two!"
After the call ended, I turned to him. "Awe, how cute. So you used to have a crush on me?"
"Shut up..."
"No, I wanna hear this story."
"In like, middle school."
"Cute." I ran my fingers through his hair. "Now, I think I'm hearing Gothboiclique, so you gotta go."
"Oh, shit." He kissed me quickly. "Bye, baby. Imma be back in a bit."-----

-----"You looked fucked up, baby." Gus looked at me. "What'd you do?"
"Acid."
"Damn. We talked about this. You shouldn't do the hard shit."
"You do it."
"You ain't me." He sat down next to me, leaning against the wall also. "Don't ever be like me."
"That was a fun concert."
"You should be in the crowd next time. But don't change the subject, baby."
"I didn't."
"Yeah, you did. Don't take drugs like me. Okay? At least not the hard stuff. I don't wanna see you dying 'cuz you overdosed."
"Gus..."
"Come on, you know you don't wanna die. I don't either."
"Everybody's telling me life's short, but I wanna die."
"Not fair."
"You don't wanna find out, better off lying. You don't wanna cry now, better off dying."
"That's directed at someone else."
"Who?"
"You really wanna ask?" His thumb traced over my lips as his hand cupped my cheek.
"Oh." His face distorted as I looked at him.
'"Baby, you trippin'?" I nodded. "What're you seeing?"
"Your face is like moving. And like, your tattoos are talking and alive."
"Which ones?"
I pointed at the centipede on his arm and the ones on his neck. "Those."
"Alright. Look at my face." I stared into his eyes and watched them turn all black. I jerked away. "No, no, baby, it's okay, it's not real. I dunno what you're seeing, but it's not real."
"Gus, you're scaring me."
"I know, I'm sorry. Imma go grab you water." Gus walked off, and came back holding a bottle of water.
I accepted it and sipped it. "I'm tired."
"Wanna go sleep?"
"Yeah."
He stood up and waited patiently while I got up. I tried to take a few steps and almost fell. "Hey. Come here." He wrapped his arm around my waist, and supported me while I walked.
We made it back to the tour bus and I collapsed onto the couch. "Gus..."
"Go to sleep."
"I'm cold."
He grabbed one of his sweatshirts out of his bunk and handed it to me. I put it on with the hood up. It was large on me, and I had sweater paws. "Aw, you're so cute." He smiled.
"No, I'm not."
Gus pushed my silver-dyed hair out of my face. "Yes, you are. Go to sleep, baby."
"Where are you gonna go?"
He shrugged. "Dunno. Prolly gonna take something. But you need to sleep this off. Goodnight, baby."
I nodded and laid down, snuggling into the hoodie. "Night, Gustav."
"Night, Leia. Sleep good."
