You sat in your room it was small, you lived in the castle but where the maids and cleaners lived, your mother was one and you didn't mind as long as you had a place to sleep.
There was nothing much for you to do except read. You were fixated on a book of fanfiction about a man in a red suit who could run at amazing speeds.
Your reading was interpreted when the doors opened and the guards came inside, you hated how they always barged in. You always wondered if them doing things like barging in wherever they wanted made them feel like they had a purpose.
You sat up as they addressed you. The one on the left spoke, "Mister Y/n L/n, the king that you join him during his training session." He ordered.
You and the king had a weird relationship, he would always request to see you and you would just spend time with each other, you don't want to admit it to yourself but you do have feelings for him.
You made your way to where King M'Baku was training, he was punching a large piece of ice. Each blow he landed a large chunk of it broke off, it was intimidating.
Two guests behind you stood at the doors as you walked to M'Baku, you had resisted the instinct to hug him because you guys were not alone.
M'Baku threw punches at you that you dodged, easily and swiftly. You were smaller and skinnier against him, with less muscle too. You used it to your advantage and you were able to move in a way that you could dodge his punches.
A few minutes in and you were pinned, M'Baku gave you his gap tooth smile. It was rare to see him smile, but you took in every detail. The king got up off you and you guys began to fight again. You quickly dodged his blows and used all your strength to flip him and you pinned him.
M'Baku let out an amused laugh and you raised your brows to show him that you could play dirty too.
When you both were back on you feet you didn't know it, but M'Baku overheard the guards talking. "So the rumors are true, we do have a faggot as a king." The one guard said, the other guard reacted by shrugging, "It must be true, look how he is playing with this boy."
You were ready to go and sent a smile M'Baku's way, but he did not return it. You threw the first punch, he caught it. The King held your fist in his hand and threw a hard punch at you knocking you straight to the ground.
You held your cheek as you looked at him, he had his beast mode on. You only saw a flicker of regret in his eyes, but it did not return.
"I am your king!" He yelled at you and you shook. "Guards take this disgrace back where you found it."
"Eh eh, inkosi." They answered, quickly moving to pick you up, and helped you walk to the palace doors.
You looked back at M'Baku and he looked sad, he held his hand out to you, but you couldn't look at him.
The doors closed.
You could never look at him the same.
