Chapter 11

~Nolan~

I reached for my phone beside me to check the time. One in the morning. I sighed, placing my phone back on the ground. I ended up falling asleep a while ago, but I only slept for about an hour. Not long at all.

Nobody else came to the auditorium to sleep, surprisingly, but I wasn't complaining. I would rather not have random people sleeping in the same room as me. I was already struggling enough as it was having to stay overnight in the school.

I sat up, letting my eyes adjust more in the dark before looking around the auditorium. Apart from me and Jerome, everyone was sleeping on one of the chairs. Well, most of them were sleeping. Alan was awake, drawing a moustache on Brandon.

"Alan, what are you doing?" I asked.

Alan shushed me. "Don't wake him up. You'll spoil it."

"Okay..." I whispered. "Why are you drawing a moustache on him?"

"I told him if he falls asleep before me, I would draw a moustache on him. It's his fault for falling asleep. Ooh, you should do that it to Jerome."

"He will absolutely not do it to Jerome," Jerome muttered.

I looked over at Jerome, seeing his eyes open before he sat up, rubbing his eyes. "What time is it?"

"One in the morning," I said. "Did I wake you?"

"Yeah, but it's fine," Jerome said. "I'd rather be awake with you than to have you feel alone when you're awake."

"Guys, shush," Alan said. "You're going to wake up Brandon."

"Isn't he a heavy sleeper?" Jerome asked.

"Yes, but you guys are being too loud," Alan said.

"You're being just as loud as us," I said. "And you're the one sitting beside him."

Alan did his very childish reply of sticking his tongue out at me before turning his attention back to Brandon.

Jerome looked at me. "You doing okay?"

I sighed. "I don't feel too crappy but I am extremely tired. I can't fall asleep though. I've been trying."

"Want to sneak around the school?" Jerome asked.

"Ooh, can I join?" Alan asked before I could even say anything. "I want to draw moustaches on more people."

"No," I said. "I don't want to get in trouble for sneaking around the school. And I'm too tired to get up." I laid back down, resting my head on Jerome's lap since he was sitting up. "Oh, no, my head is on your lap. Looks like you can't get up too."

Jerome chuckled, leaning down and kissing my forehead before ruffling my hair. "You're so adorable."

"You two are nauseating," Alan said.

"I'll wake up Brandon," Jerome said.

"No, please don't. I'm not done."

"How long does it take to draw a moustache anyway?"

"Well, I'm not an artist so it's taking a lot longer than usual. I think I'll draw a moustache on Ryder next."

"Do it if you want me to break your fingers," Ryder suddenly said.

Alan sighed. "Why is everyone waking up whenever I talk about a moustache being drawn on them?"

"Because you're talking too loud," Ryder said. "I'm surprised Brandon hasn't woken up yet."

"He's a heavy sleeper," Alan said.

"You're the one who said Nolan and I were going to wake up him for being too loud."

"Well, that was before he didn't wake up then. Now that he hasn't woken up, it just shows that he's a really heavy sleeper. One time after we slept together, I couldn't wake him up. I thought he died by sex."

"I didn't have to know that," Ryder said. He sighed before leaning back in the chair he was sitting on. "What time is it?"

"One in the morning," I said.

"Man, I just want to go home," Ryder said. "It took me a long time to fall asleep because these chairs are uncomfortable to sleep in."

"You should have been smart like your brother and brought an air mattress and sleeping bag," Jerome said.

"The snowstorm warning was false the past couple years," Ryder said. "I didn't think it was going to actually happen, nor did I think would be stuck inside the school for the night."

Orchid groaned before saying in a whiny voice, "Do you guys have to be so loud? I'm trying to sleep."

       "Yeah, Alan," I said.

"Why are you singling me out?" Alan asked.

"Because you're my brother. It's what I do."

Everyone else, except Brandon, ended up waking up due to the conversation. I felt bad but at the same time, I did feel a bit more comfortable being in the school this late note that mostly everyone was awake.

"Wow, he really is a heavy sleeper," Ryder said, looking at Brandon. "Are you sure he's not dead?"

"He's breathing, so no," Alan said. He had finished drawing the moustache a while ago and said he was tempted to draw more on his face, but then he said he would be a nice boyfriend and stopped after the moustache.

"Aren't you going to wake him up?" Orchid asked.

"Why would I do that?" Alan asked.

"Uh, because everyone else is awake," Orchid said. "He's probably going to feel lonely when he realizes he slept through all this."

"Good point," Alan said. He kept poking Brandon, trying to wake him up but it was no use. "Okay, maybe he is dead. Should I pour water on him? Wait, never mind. I got an idea." He moved closer to Brandon's ear. "Brandon!"

That was enough to wake him up.

"Geez, why did you do that?" Brandon asked, rubbing his eyes. "Are we able to go home yet?"

"Nope. It's only one in the morning."

"Then why the hell did you wake me up?"

"The rest of us are awake."

       "So?"

"So you should be awake with us. By the way, I drew a moustache on you."

Brandon sighed. "Of course you did."

"So can we do something fun?" Orchid asked.

"We can sleep," I said, closing my eyes as I snuggled closer to Jerome. "Night night."

Jerome chuckled and wrapped his arms tightly around me. "I could actually hook up my laptop to the projector. We can all watch a movie."

"No, don't get up," I said, hugging him tightly.

"I'll come back here as soon as I can," Jerome said.

       "No."

"I'll do it," Brandon said, getting up from the chair. "I have to get up and wash this moustache off my face anyway." He glared at Alan, but Alan just smiled at him.
