A/N: imagine Loki being there for you so you don't have to be alone on Christmas.

You had stirred awake from your peaceful slumber the night before, only to awaken to a light snowfall. It wasn't much, but it made the world around you look as if it was a snow globe; a beautiful scenery for Christmas Day that was for certain. It was a shame that you could really care less though, not feeling the festive spirit. How could you be in the mood to celebrate though? You were going to be spending the holidays alone, which made it seem like just another day to you; which was quite unfortunate.

Due to this fact alone, you couldn't bear to hear the sound of bells ringing in the malls, nor stand to listen to numerous Christmas carols; all of them reminding you that everyone around you was feeling so jolly, while you were wallowing in your somber mood. In all honesty, you didn't want to feel this way and wished that you could go to back to how things used to be—you actually feeling some sort of excitement for the holiday season, looking forward to sharing gifts, the bonding time with friends and family, that sort of giddy childlike demeanour that this time of year always seemed to bring out in people. That kind of spirit had seemingly died within the past year on you though and it seemed grim that it could ever return to you; this was especially true when it had appeared that any family and so called 'friends' you had could care less to find a way to get you to come down to them, let alone make a simple phone call to wish you happy holidays. Not even that had happened though.

There was one person who cared enough to talk to you though, knowing the feeling of loneliness all too well and that particular person was none other than the God of Mischief himself—Loki Odinson. The two of you had become good friends since you met one another at a local library and went to reach for the same book, as cliche as that might sound. He admired your good taste in literature, while you admired his pleasingly well acquired taste in style; both of you soon sitting together to look the book over, as neither of you could come to an agreement as to who could borrow the book first. You had insisted that he took it, being the overly nice person that you were, and normally he would've taken it with no regards to the other person, but there was something about you that piqued his interest; therefore deciding that he would stick around for awhile to figure it out, which within a few days he had done just that.

Now, here you were several months later, receiving a text from the trickster god; one that meant well, but had disheartened you that much more when you read it.

Hello (Y/N), I hope your Christmas is going well. Happy Holidays.

Should you tell him the truth? Of course you should, it'd only be a matter of time until he would figure out that you were lying. That was one of his specialties after all, sensing when people were being deceptive. A heavy sigh escaped from your lips, with you beginning to type a response back to Loki moments after ponding on the subject.

Hey Loki, in all honesty, I'm not having a good Christmas. I'm all alone and it just doesn't feel the same. Thank you for the well wishes though, I do appreciate them and hope you're having a wonderful day yourself.

You read it over and then pressed 'send', receiving an almost immediate response from him, having just barely placed your phone down.

Alone on Christmas? That isn't right. Not in the least! Allow me to be the one to remedy that.

Just as you were about to reply to the message, wanting to tell Loki that it was alright, he suddenly appeared in your living room and to your surprise, adorned a Santa hat on his head; you had admit that he looked rather cute in it. "Hello dear, let's make the day bright and merry for you as it should be," he smiled softly, waving his hand in the air to make a present appear; waiting for you to take it. Knowing full well that he wasn't going to let this go, you took the present from him and examined the box, which was neatly wrapped in a shiny green paper, pondering what it could be. "What is it Loki?" A small smirk grew on his lips, along with a slight twinkle of mischief in his eyes. "Just open it dear, I assure you that you'll love it."
