Ziyah's POV

"Vanilla or chocolate?" I ask. Sofia twirls in the stool by the island as I stand by the fridge with the freezer opened. Angela dropped her off before heading to work and even though I'm busy trying to not to speak to my mom, and thinking about that picture of Daya I offered to babysit. Shit, it wasn't like I had a choice Bree is back at her friend's apartment and Henry is studying or doing god knows what.

Sofia moves her head from side to side. "Vanilla with a smidge of chocolate," she says. I nod and grab the cartons out of the fridge as Sofia begins to speak again. "And the chocolate should be on top," she adds. Technically it's only just approaching the afternoon meaning Sofia shouldn't be having sugar, but it's Angela's job to regulate how much sugar she has not mine.

"Here you go," I say. I place the bowl in front of her and she claps her hands together.

"Thanks Zi Zi," she says. I'm about to sit down in front of her, but scaring me Sofia takes hold of the glass bowl and hops off the stool.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

Sofia starts walking, but turns back to look at me. "What do you think? I can't eat by the island, I have to go to the dining table," she argues. I mean I guess she has a point, but since Bree has been here we've been eating at the island everyday.

I follow her into the dining table and she takes a seat at the head of the table which looks weird because she's so small. I wanna go to my room, but I know better than to leave Sofia alone especially since she saw where I put the ice cream. Sofia shoves big scoops of ice cream into her mouth and I look at my messages from Daya.

Daya: Ok, is everything ok.

I don't type anything in, and realize I don't really know the answer to that question. I mean Lucas showed me some picture with Daya and a guy, but that shit doesn't really mean much, but seeing the picture in my mind makes me want to punch something. It probably makes me sound crazy as fuck, but i'm the only one who should be looking at her in that way.

Me: Yea I just want to see you.

Daya: Aww I wanna see you too.

For the next minutes I go into a back and forth conversation about how her mom is doing and all of that, and I tell her a bit of my shit before she tells me she has to go.

"Zi?" Sofia asks. I finally look up from my phone and at Sofia who surprisingly doesn't have any ice cream stains on her face.

"Yeah Sof."

She pushes her now empty bowl a little bit in front of her and places her arms on the table. "Whats going on with mommy and daddy? she asks. How would I know I barely know what's happening with my own parents.

"I don't know Sof." I say that answer again in my head and then look at Sofia's big curious eyes. "What do you think is going on with them?"

Sofia kicks her feet up and down under the table. "Well if you wanna know what I think. I think daddy is in love with mommy."

I hide any indication that I don't agree with her. "And why do you think that?"

"Because he gave her a long kiss after our playdate, along with a gift."

"Word? What was the gift?" I say sounding like Lucas.

"A silver ring," Sofia says so easily. Oh god no. I didn't notice a ring  on Angela's finger when she came today, but I don't look at her fingers, and I don't think Sofia is making this shit up.

"Did he get on his knee to give her the ring?"

Sofia shakes her head. "No not like the princesses, he just put it on her finger."
