Naki X Reader [Smile]

Chapter 9

"But then one day when I was out on a park bench in the evening, I met Hide..."

A (H/C) haired girl was sat alone on a swing, looking from afar at the children that were previously playing in the park are being collected by their parents.

It was starting to get dark but the girl remained seated on the swing. Alone.

This was a daily basis for the young child. She often waited long hours for her brother to return from work. Why didn't she wait at home you may ask? She hated being alone.

That's why she preferred waiting in the park full of people even if she didn't play with the other children...

Suddenly she noticed a blonde boy approaching her. He smiled at her brightly but she looked the other way. Ignoring him.

He sat down on the swing beside her. "Hi" He greeted.

Silence.

"You see I've recently moved here and I have only managed to make one friend so far, want to become my second friend?" The boy spoke once again.

(Y/N) glanced at him curiously but looked away with a frown. 'I don't need friends, I just want my parents' She thought.

Although deep down she was yearning this. She really wanted a friend. Needed a friend.

"I live right over there and I noticed you stay out here late all the time, I decided to finally greet you!" The male beamed before swinging lightly.

"My name is Hideyoshi Nagachika but you can call me Hide! What's your name?" Hide jumped from the swing slightly startling the girl and crouched down in front of her.

He cocked his head to the side as he looked up at her frowning face. At that moment he came up with an idea. The youngster started to dance around and make stupid faces in an attempt to amuse the girl.

(Y/N) was trying hard to contain her laughter but she soon let out a giggle and a small smile appeared on her face.

"See! You look much more cheerful now!" Hide stated in a happy tone.

Even though she was ignoring him he still kept trying to catch her attention. She mustered up all her courage. "(Y/N), my name is (Y/N) (L/N)..." She stated barely above a whisper with a small smile...

From that moment onwards Hide stayed out every night and waited for (Y/N's) brother with her.

As each day passed the girl opened up more and more, Hide started coming with Kaneki and the three of them were basically inseparable.

The sitting and waiting soon changed into playing different games and having fun along with getting to know eachother better...

Hide was the light of hope that appeared in her life. He made it less lonely.

And even when Izuki finally managed to find a job that didn't require him to work extra hours in order to make a living, the trio of friends still kept meeting up after school to play...

"Thanks to him I'm the person I am today..." The female finished her story with a smile on her face before looking up at Naki.

He was currently balling his eyes out and using up a lot of tissues from the box that lay on the coffee table.

"T-that's such a h-heartwarming story!" He cried out grabbing another tissue. (Y/N) sighed and shook her head slightly before smiling softly. 'And moments earlier I was the one that needed cheering up huh?' She thought before pulling the ghoul into an embrace.

"Sh sh, c'mon no need to cry, it has a happy ending so we have to be happy and not cry even if those are happy tears!" She soothed him running her hand up and down his back...

-Time Skip-

"Thank you for trusting me with your story (Y/N)." The now calm blonde said.

"I'm the one who should be thanking you for listing to me and being there for me!" The student exclaimed with a smile. 

The two of them were stood in the corridor as Naki was about to leave. The (E/C) eyed girl gave him a quick hug but then got pulled into another embrace. A longer embrace at that.

She hugged back nevertheless unaware of what Naki was about to do. He mustered up all his courage and pulled away, quickly pecked her on the cheek and then opened the door.

"B-bye (Y/N), see y-you soon!" He practically shouted as he was already a blushing mess and gave her a quick wave before slamming the door shut...
