Naki listened intently, making sure not to miss out any part of (Y/N's) story.

"I was only 6 years old at the time so I didn't really understand what happened, all I could comprehend was that they weren't coming back..." She trailed on, her voice much calmer than before.

"Izuki was 20 at the time, he was an adult, an adult that understood what had taken our parents from us...he was furious and devastated...that's when he started hating ghouls with all his guts..." Saying this she pulled away from the blonde and looked at him with a sad smile.

The ghouls face scrunched up with concern as he reached wipe the remaining tears from her cheeks. She didn't flinch or move away. Naki's thumb brushed her skin delicately before slowly pulling away.

"I could use glass of water, why don't we head downstairs and I'll finish the story." (Y/N) suggested and started to head towards her bedrooms door.

"You don't have to continue the story if it's too painful, I dont want you to strangle yourself." The male stated, concern laced his voice. Unaware of the fact that he mixed up words again.

The (H/C) female turned towards him abruptly, her (E/C) wide. A moment of silence passed before the student broke into a fit of giggles.

Naki was very confused to say the very least.

"Don't you mean strain yourself Naki? Haha thanks to you I cheered up a whole bunch, thank you." She said smiling brightly at the ghoul. Naki blushed and pouted at the girl, embarrassed by the fact he made a mistake in such a serious situation.

"Don't worry Naki, you can make many mistakes, afterall we learn from mistakes and thanks to that we dont make the same mistakes in the future!" (Y/N) exclaimed and once she saw that Naki was still blushing she decided to give him a hug of encouragement.

The blonde ghoul quickly returned her smile as he hugged her back. 'She's so warm and caring...' He thought and pulled away from the hug. The girl was still smiling as she reached up and ruffled Naki's hair.

"Let's go!" She shouted as she fist bumped the air leaving flustered Naki to regain his composure.

(Y/N) gulped down the remaining liquid from her glass before setting it down on the coffee table. She sat back on the couch and turned towards Naki.

"Izuki was responsible for me, we don't have any other living relatives so he had to give up on his university studies and find a job." The (H/C) haired human continued gesturing with her hands, she was much more brighter now.

Naki smiled slightly seeing her like this. "I was sad, very sad seeing him so stressed and tired. He was doing all of that for my sake and before I knew it, work was took up almost all of his life. I only saw him in the mornings during breakfast." (Y/N) cut off here and frowned slightly.

"When I was in school I didn't feel the urge to play with other kids, I couldn't understand why at the time but looking back I'm sure it was some sort of mental illness caused by the traumatic experience of losing my parents..." She trailed on but then looked at Naki's confused expression.

'Trau-what? Menial illness? Maybe I should pretend like I understand, yeah that'll work' Naki thought.

(Y/N) smiled softly at the male. "A mental illness is when someones mind is...is slightly broken, for example there's a mental illness called depression when someone is always sad and can't feel happiness even from the things that used to bring them joy..." She explained looking into Naki's eyes as he nodded in understanding.

"Ah I understand now! Thanks (Y/N) but what about the trau-trau thingy?" He asked in confusion.

"Well trauma is a sort of thing that is in your mind after a very terrifying and sudden experience, so when I suddenly lost my parents it was traumatic for me." The girl continued and Naki thanked her once again. He was happy to learn something new even if it was from a very sad experience.

"But then one day when I was out on a park bench in the evening, I met Hide..."
