Star sits in the kitchen making some food for the others, he doesn't enjoy being alone with Kobra and Ghoul but he has to since Jet had to take Poison to a hospital. The reason, Poison had woken up with an unbearable headache and shocking pains in his side. It was a side effect of the virus and it wasn't a good side effect. He could already hear the other two killjoys yelling at each other as soon as Jet left with Poison. And already, he wishes Blood was there to stop the fight. A chair turns over as Kobra falls into the doorway of the kitchen. "Oh gosh...Kobra are you ok?", Star asks turning around to face him. Immediately after he says it, Kobra gets up and disappears into the hallway. A loud thud against the wall alarms Star and he peeks out. The sight is not pleasant. Kobra has his hands around Ghoul's thoat, pinning him high up against the wall. With his injured wrist as a disadvantage, Ghoul struggles and kicks Kobra as he tries to free himself by hand. Star runs over and tries to pull Kobra off Ghoul, "K-Kobra please stop! You're hurting Ghoul!". But this didn't end well, Ghoul manages to kick Kobra in the jaw while Star speaks to him. It causes Kobra to drop him and stumble backwards. "IMMA REALLY KICK YOUR A-- NOW! STUPID A-- B---- TRYNA CHOKE ME OUT!", Ghoul tells as he gets up, throwing his fist into Kobra's side. In response, Kobra elbows him into the wall. Star starts to cry as he watches the violence unfold. Eventually after they hit each other a few times, Star steps in the middle of them. It results in Ghoul accidentally hitting him instead of Kobra, knocking him hard on the floor. "Oh sh--!", Kobra looks at Star wide eyed. As does Ghoul, "Oh my god...holy sh-- I hit Star! F---! F---!". A quiet sob escapes from Star's thoat, he shakily sits up and already he has a bruise on his collarbone from the hit. "Star I didn't mean to hit you! God d--- it, I'm sorry!", Ghoul kneels down in front of Star and looks at him extremely concerned. This was never expected of course, usually Jet would stop their fighting and he could handle one of them hitting him, but that wasn't the case for Star. Kobra sits down next to Star and pulls him into a hug, "Hey, hey. Calm down now, we aren't fighting anymore.". Slowly, he feels Star hug him back, sobbing into his shoulder. Kobra looks over at Ghoul, "We need to stop...this went too far.". The other killjoy doesn't respond for a second. The room quiets down a bit as Star's sobs cut off, Ghoul looks mad about what he's done and prepares to speak. "I agree, and I want this to change. But it's never going to!", Ghoul tears up, still looking upset. A look of guilt covers his face as he looks at Kobra and Star, tears streaming down his cheeks. The marks on his neck from Kobra choking him have become visible bruises. Just by seeming the marks, Kobra becomes quite disappointed in himself. He lets go of the now calmed Star, and pulls Ghoul into a hug instead, "Ghoul...I'm sorry…". Both Ghoul and Star are surprised by this. Star had never seen them that way, only fighting and screaming at each other. So it had surprised the younger killjoy the most. "Ghoul…you're my best friend and I was so f---ing stupid to continue to hurt you the way I did. I do want to be friends again, I want this to end cause we aren't just hurting ourselves doing this sh--! I can't do it anymore and I know you cant either! It's not just affecting us anymore...", Kobra looks over at Star, then down to Ghoul. The other just looks slightly confused, "I-I...I'm your best friend?", "You never stopped being my best friend. No matter how much we argued and fought.", "You really mean that?", "Yes I do, and I'm sorry I put my hands on you. I shouldn't hurt people I love...yet, because I'm an a--, I do. H---, I even hurt my own brother because of my attitude.". The words seem to confused Ghoul even more as Kobra speaks, as if they lead him through a maze, "You love me...?". "Yes of course I do! You've always been there for me even though I'm horribly mean to you, you're like a brother to me and nothing should have ever changed that.", Kobra smiles slightly as he says it, "Look let me make it up to you. How about you, me, and Star go have a little fun? I'm sure Poison and the others wouldn't care since they aren't here.". This idea seemed like a good one, but at the same time it didn't somehow, "What exactly do you plan to do?", Ghoul asks as he wiped his eyes. It was a bit embarrassing to have cried in front of Kobra, but it wasn't much of a big deal. His throat throbs a bit and as does his wrist, it seems his body disagrees with the idea for whatever it may be. "I'm thinking maybe we can go to that one bar we used to go to all the time! It was pretty fun there.", Kobra smiles brightly, putting his hands on Ghoul's shoulders. His hands get swiped down calmly by Ghoul, "What the f--- Kobra? Star's underage, there's no way I'm bringing him in there. The others would kill us if they ever found out.", "Which is why they don't have to find out. As long as Star can keep his mouth shut. And you.", "F--- you! I don't talk about the stupid sh-- we did back then to this day!", "Haha, and there's the Ghoul I know.". Seeing them two act as friends instead of enemies brings a smile to Star's face, "I like you guys better this way.". Ghoul and Kobra laugh at Star's remark, confusing Star just slightly. Kobra puts his arm around Ghoul's shoulders and laughs more, "So do I Star. D---, this should have been us all along, Ghoul!". Looking happy, Ghoul rustles up Kobra's hair, "H--- yes! I don't even remember why we even stopped being friends to be honest. Oh well, it probably doesn't even matter.". The two of them stand up, along with Star. It takes about 30 minutes before they get fully ready, wearing their masks as they walk out of the house. "Alright Star. When we go in you have to stay with us. There's Criminals left and right, and not all of them are nice.", Ghoul says as they walk through the empty desert. Going down to the only road for miles, they make it to the bar within an hour after walking on it. The bar is lit up and painted black on the outside, there being a door in the front and a window. The back of the building looked about the same, but it isn't visible from the front. A guard sits in a chair next to the door, looking over the three newcomers. Star hugs onto Kobra's arm seeming fearful, but Ghoul reassures him with a pat on his shoulder before walking over to the guard, "Ey Leonie. We can come in, can't we?". The guard, who's name from what Ghoul says is Leonie, stands up and stands about 2 feet higher than Ghoul. He opens the door and Ghoul looks back with a smile, "Let's head inside, guys.", he says as he walks in. Kobra walks in pace with Star, him still being clung onto his arm. The inside looks quite lively, dimly lit at the bar and music playing. Many people are out and about, either dancing or drinking the day away. The walls inside were a tarnished white, and on it some graffiti. The wall didn't exactly match the tile floor, it being red and deep green like a checkerboard. There was a pool table in the back and a Few guys playing a pool game on it. No one looked, so say, 'normal. All of them were obviously criminals.  "Alright. I'm gonna go get some drinks. What do you guys want?", Ghoul asks with a delightful smirk on his face. Star speaks up first, "C-can I just have some water?". "Sure thing, Star. And you Kobra?", Ghoul looks at Kobra, who returns the look with a smile. "You know what I drink.", he states as he playfully rolls his eyes. Ghoul laughs a bit and walks to the bar. As Ghoul orders the drinks, Kobra looks down at Star who's still clinging to his arm, "It's ok, Star. Ain't nobody gonna f--- with you if I'm around. I'll beat the sh-- outta them if they even think of laying a finger on you. And if I can't do it alone, Ghoul's got my back. You're our responsibility, so we gotta take care of you.". Star smiles a bit and let's go of Kobra's arm, "Ok...and you guys aren't gonna fight, right?". "Nah, me and Ghoul are cool now. And if there is a problem, we'll make sure to talk it out.", Kobra looks around as he speaks, seeing who's all there. While he does, Star spots someone familiar, "Hey Kobra. Isn't that the guy who broke into the house yesterday?", he says as he points at the man sitting at the barstool. He was just mere feet away from Ghoul who appears to have not noticed him. This time, it appears he has a large scar under his eye and a Few visible ones on his hands. Not to mention the smoke coming from his eye, there's no doubt it was Lucid Dream. Kobra pulls Star over and stares at Dream intently, looking mad, "If Ghoul comes over and asks for me, tell him I went to the bathroom.". Despite knowing what could happen, Star nods and watches as Kobra slowly walks over to Dream. He sits there for a second, feeling dread fill his mind with all the bad possibilities. Suddenly he feels a tap on his shoulder and he turns looking at Ghoul. "O-Oh...hi there.", Star says a bit nervously, smiling as Ghoul hands him a bottle of water. "Hey, where did Kobra go? He isn't bailing on us, right?", Ghoul asks taking a sip from his glass of what appears to be Gin mixed with a little bourbon whiskey due to the color, two ice cubes float around at the top. In his other hand he has a bottle of rum, more than likely a homemade type. "We'll? You gonna tell me or am I gonna have to shake it outta ya?", Ghoul says in a jokingly manner, winking as he says so. Star looks in Kobra's direction, it seems Kobra was, surprisingly, talking calmly with Dream. It was obvious he was apologizing to him, yet he knew Kobra had done nothing wrong somehow, thanks to the expression Kobra carried on his face. After a few seconds, Star turns his head towards Ghoul, "He's uh...in the bathroom. Or at least that's where he said he was going.". Ghoul smiles and shrugs a bit, "Let's find a table to sit at. You can take off your mask when we get there.", and after, he walks to a random booth at the back of the bar and sets the rum bottle and his glass on the table. Star walks after him, his heart racing in fear for what exactly Kobra was doing. At any minute, he expected a fight to break out as he and Ghoul sat in the booth. And he wasn't sure he was ok dealing with Ghoul, who was already just a little buzzed. "Heya Star, what's wrong?", Ghoul says, his glass already halfway empty. Star turns his head, he seems to have spaced off somehow and even forgot that they were in the bar. He looks over at Ghoul with a smile, "Nothing. I'm just worried about what Kobra's doing…". Ghoul sips from his glass and smiles, "I can go find him if you're so worried about him.". "Oh I know exactly where he is. Here he comes now.", Star states quickly just as Kobra plops down on the opposite side of him and Ghoul. Ghoul pushes the bottle of rum to Kobra, "Hey I got your drink.", "You got the whole bottle? Sweet, thanks Ghoul.", "No problem, we're gonna get f---ed up tonight.", "What about Star…?", "He'll be fine. Right Star?". Star earns a grinning look from the buzzed Ghoul. In return, Star just nods as he takes off his mask, "Yeah it's ok, guys. Go ahead, you two deserve it.". Kobra smiles and pulls off his helmet, placing it beside himself and opening the rum bottle. After taking a swig from it, he huffs a bit, "God d---, that's strong.". In a drunken manner, Ghoul laughs at him, "F--- yeah! I asked him for the strongest, that's the one ya like.". He then gets up and walks back to the bar, getting a second drink. Kobra takes another swig of the rum and seems to be used to the toughness of it. "D---, he's gonna be one drunk son of b----. Prepare to sing karaoke with him if he asks, or dance with him. Cause I ain't doing that sh--.", The taller man gets up and walks away, leaving Star alone at the table with all the masks besides Ghoul's. He waits there for what feels like forever, till Ghoul stumbles over to him and bangs his hands on the table in front of him. "H-Hey...hey Star….heheh…", Ghoul was obviously smashed, having a stupid grin on his face and a slight wobble. This makes Star uncomfortable, he hasn't ever been around a drunk so he didn't know what exactly to do, "Ghoul are you ok?", "H--- y-yeah!-hic- Hehehe...haha Star. S-Star hey, you -hic- wanna go sing with me?", "Um...I don't know. Is that safe?", "F---...is it?". Star looks around and spots the karaoke machine and the mini stage, "Um...maybe we could ask someone?". Ghoul sits down next to him, he still grins foolishly at Star. "Ghoul...why are you staring at me like that?", Star looks at him a bit nervously, he isn't really sure what to expect from the drunken man. He kinda wished Kobra had stayed with him so he could at least attempt to keep Ghoul under control. Suddenly, Ghoul stands and pulls Star up out of the booth, "If we can't karaoke ...d-dance with -hic- me.". Of course, Ghoul was starting not to make any sense, he had started talking funny with that weird grin on his face. Ghoul chugs down what probably is his hundredth drink and sways around with Star. Surprisingly, Ghoul was an amazing dancer, so Star wasn't getting his feet stepped on and he wasn't being tripped on by Ghoul, "Woah I didn't know you could dance! Hehe!". "If I can -hic- read, I can d-dance, b----.", Ghoul shouts loudly and continues to sway around, "This is s-so fun! Hah!". The music was pretty quick and Ghoul had them both off beat but it didn't seem to matter since they were having fun. And that's when it happened, Ghoul started to suddenly sing loudly and drunkenly, "W-Well if you wanted honesty, t-tha -hic- that's all you had to say~! I never want to l-let you down -hic- or have you go, it's...b-better off this way~! -hic- I'm not okay~! Y-You wear me ouuuuut~! I -hic- told you t-time and time again...you s-sing the words buuuuut don't know what it -hic- means~!". He pulls Star close with one arm, leaning on his shoulder as he continues his drunk version of 'I'm not Ok.'. Star giggles, knowing Poison would be mad as heck hearing his song sang off key and incorrectly by his drunk friend, "But you r-really need to -hic- listen to me~! Because I'm t-telling...yoooooou the truth! I mean...this~! I-I'm okay~! -hic- Trust meeeee~! W-Well, I'm not okay~! I'm not -hic- o-f---ing-kay~! -hic- I'm...not okaaaaay~!". Small giggles escape from Star's mouth, "Oh gosh, you're singing way wrong!", "O-Oooook. Sing -hic- it, then.". Star's face reddens slightly, "Aw c'mon, you know the lyrics, Ghoul!", he looks down as he says it. Certainly, he didn't want to sing for a drunk man, or any of the other many drunk people in the bar. And usually, he would comply to what the Killjoys asked of him. But singing wasn't one of them,  "Can I just...um...not sing? Please?". Ghoul leans more onto Star and laughs in a weird manner, "ok S-Staaaaar. Let m-me -hic- dance some m-more! Singing can wait forevvvver!". Unnoticeably, Kobra had been watching them the whole time. He strides over just as Ghoul leans over and grabs his drink, chugging the rest of it down and afterwards dropping it due to his wrist spazzing out like it had when he dropped his gun. And unsurprisingly, he was also drunk. But he was...crying? "Staaaaar…", Kobra hugs onto Star and sobs, burying his face in his shoulder, "Oh...Imma bad person…". Hesitantly, Star rest his hand gently on Kobra's head in a comforting way, "Hey that's not true...you're a good person.". Kobra sobs louder, hiccuping and weeping as a child would. For A while Kobra doesn't respond, ans Star immediately becomes overwhelmed dealing with both a sobbing Kobra and the now fallen over Ghoul. "Hahahaha...b-baby I'm -hic- not druuunk!", Ghoul laughs uncontrollably as Kobra still continues to cry for no reason. Star moves away from Kobra and tries to pull Ghoul up, but Kobra just pulls him back and clings to him while weeping loudly. Drunks were very emotional and stupid, and Star didn't know if he should be comfortable with it or just leave before they acted even worst. "Hey, you look like you could use some help.", comes a calming voice, Star turns and sees Dream there. Star slightly moves back against Kobra, who's still having his drunken pity party, "I um...yes please.". After a second, Dream manages to help Ghoul off the floor. This was the perfect chance for Dream to possibly make up for what he did in the past, "Could so help you get them home?". "Yeah sure. I got Kobra if you have Ghoul.", Star walks towards the door, though he has to be careful since Kobra won't let go of him. Not to mention he's taller than Star and drunk, he continuously sobs loudly as he clings to him. "I thank you for helping...I'm not sure I could handle them both at once.", Star says walking Kobra out the door. On the other hand, Ghoul started to once again sing drunkenly but his words bubbled out incoherently. And it's suddenly stopped when Dream puts his hand over Ghoul's mouth, "It's no big deal, I'd help anyone if they needed.". For A while they walk in silence besides Kobra's quiet weeping and Ghoul's non-understandable singing. As they walk through the now darkened world, only lit by the sun, a car passes them. It was the Killjoys car, and Jet was driving with Poison in the passenger side. The car pulls up beside them, "Where did you three go? Weren't you at the house? And where did you get that bruise on ya, kiddo?", asks a now confused Jet, who rolls the window down more than it already had been before. Star looks over at him, "Um well ...Ghoul and Kobra made up and we went out somewhere.", "Where at? They look wasted.", "I think it was some sort of bar or something…", "Well. Don't tell Poison or Blood, they'll be p---ed.", "Isn't Poison...right there?", "He's asleep. And Blood went off to check up on the recruits.". It looks kinda like Jet was ignoring the fact that Dream was there too or that he didn't notice it was Dream, he kept up a calm look and looked at Star and only him. Star didn't take notice to this at first, until Kobra stumbles on top of him and just lays on him sobbing uncontrollably. "Look. I'll take them two home so you won't have them falling all over you. I'll meet up with you at the to assign down near the house and pick you up. Let me help you get them in.", Jet gets out of the car and swings Kobra over his shoulder, helping Star up after doing so. After putting Kobra in the backseat, he turns to Dream and puts his hands on his hips, "What are you doing here?". Ghoul giggles and falls over onto Jet, "Bwah…-hic- he makes c-candiessss.". Jet hooks his arms under Ghouls right before he slips off and onto the ground, dragging him into the backseat as well. "I was helping them, ya know. Being a good neighbor.", Dream says crossing his arms. Star stands by watching, Jet walking over to Dream, "Look kid. Poison doesn't want you around any of the other Killjoys. I don't want you around any of them either until you're one of us, especially after that little episode of you sneaking past our defenses and nearly getting yourself killed by Poison. But, I'm gonna trust you to walk Star up to the road sign. If you can do that simple thing, it'll prove your loyalty to us. Don't even ask, I'll explain. If you can handle being alone with one of us, you can be trusted. Maybe not by Poison yet, but I'm doing my best to get you in since we desperately need people for our battle. Got it?". Dream smiles a bit and nods, "Thanks Jet. I promise you won't regret this.". "I better not. If something happens to Star, you're a dead man. And this time ...it won't be Poison holding the gun.", and after fixing his sunglasses, Jet closes the back car doors and gets in the driver side. Usually Jet wasn't the one to threaten you. But when he did, it was pretty scary. Both Dream and Star begin to walk down to the road sign as the car disappears down the road ahead of them. "Sooo ...how did you get into the killjoys?", Dream asks as he walks beside Star, jet black smoke exiting his left socket. The question seemed kinda irrelevant, but Star answered anyways, "Um...well I kinda just...asked Jet nicely after my interview. Jet trained with me, and found that my military skills could come in handy on the team. So when I asked he said I could.". "Oh...wish I could do that.", Dream mumbles it, looking down. The wind blows a gentle breeze past them, Star looking up with the sky silent as they walked. All his thoughts gather slowly as he sees the twinkling stars, imagining that he could just simply reach his hand out and touch them. But he can't so he looks ahead and sees the old road sign. The car was sitting out in front of it, Jet leaning against the side of it watching them. And right as they thought they were alright, a white truck drives past. A woman on the passenger side opens fire on them as the truck speeds past, and speeds off with a loud screech.
