Working for WWE NXT has its moments whether it title changes, new debuts, or making new friends I just can't seem to get enough of it. My best friend, Katie, is the longest-reigning NXT Women's Champion; which I had first thank you very much!
Our time in NXT has been the greatest time yet, she and I started working for companies in our late teens but started training at thirteen-years-old. Katie and I go way back, we met each other in Kindergarten on the playground, but how we started that friendship is something else. Long story short, I pushed her down the stairs to the slide and she shoved me down the slide in revenge; I know, perfect start of a friendship.
Now here we are in WWE doing the one thing that we know how to do because this is our first ever job, we never had real jobs beside little kid jobs like mowing lawns, raking leaves, and simple things like that. We've been blessed by the Wrestling Gods to work for many different promotions around the United States before landing our permanent spot in NXT.
When Katie and I first started working for WWE, Triple H or Hunter, wanted us to be a tag-team duo for a while and we didn't mind at all unless they broke us up four months into our debut. According to Hunter, I had the qualities of a champion and he put me on the path of being NXT Women's Champion and I won the belt from Sasha Banks, but the one problem I had with the title was Katie's position in the company. While I was winning match after match, she was more like a jobber and barely getting used. I know Katie has a whole lot more potential because I've seen it and the WWE Universe sees it, so I may have pulled some strings with the creative teams and was able to get Katie more matches and possibly a shot at my title... which was a mistake once she started picking up steam.
After three months of Katie picking up steam, she pinned me for the belt and the WWE Universe erupted into excitement. Ever since that day, she's been killing it as champion and I'm so proud of her.
I met Katie backstage after her match with Paige, "Kat, that match was brutal. Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm good, but I don't think Paige is," she said rubbing her neck and a smirk plastered on her face.
"Hello, ladies," a slightly tall man with jet black hair said.
"No way, you're TJ Perkins," I said with wide eyes.
"That's me. Hey Kat, great match by the way," TJ said with a smile across his lips.
"Uh, thanks. Great match last week against Noam Dar," Katie said with a hint of red on her cheeks.
"Thank you. I'll see you, ladies, around," he waved off.
"Bye, TJ," I said waving back.
"Later, Champ," Katie said waving a bit.
I'm gonna cut that exchange short because it goes on into a full fangirl moment between the both of us. However, this was the exact moment that the fireworks were set off between Katie and TJ Perkins.
Oh, before we move on I just realized something... I never introduced myself, sorry about that. Hi, I'm Nixon and my journey in life and WWE... is kind of crazy.
