A Quest Of A Lifetime

Chapter 14

-3rd POV-
As the sword broke, Thunderstorms’ eyes widen his whole body frozen on the spot. Kaizo took this moment to plunge his sword at Thunderstorms chest.  Blaze screamed as he saw his brothers’ lifeless body hung from the sword that was impaled to his heart, Kaizo gave him a sly smile amused by his crest fallen face,  Blaze scrambled forward as Kaizo pulled out his sword,  arms wide as he caught his brothers now limped body. Tears started falling from his eyes as he hugged his brothers body tightly not daring to let it go from his hold, Kaizo watch the scene with a stoic look before turning his back ‘I’ll finish him later, I’ll just make him suffer first.’ he thought as he started walking away but stopped mid-way when he heard a laugh not that cheery laugh he always hear from the siblings, no this kind of laugh was more sinister and it sent chills at the back of his spine.  “You’re crazy.” Kaizo mumbled making Blaze stop as his eyes darken “Says the guy who has his own brother in restrains.” he scowled back “You don’t know anything.” “Yeah you’re right I don’t, but I do know this; Fang’s a great guy…..heck we treat him like one of our own and after all we went through.” Blaze glared at Kaizo “he doesn't deserve someone like you.” Kaizo paused for a few minutes before answering “If you love your brothers so much why don’t you join them.” he declared as he plunge his sword through Blazes heart.

Earthquake can only stare in horror as the last two of his siblings died in front of him, his legs gave out on him making him kneel on the floor. He could feel his vision swirling as it began to fade, he bailed his fist putting a lot of pressure in his nails to hurt his palm to stay conscious, he tried to control his breathing but he could feel himself hyperventilating as his vision focused . He saw Kaizo coming his way, his sword drawn at his side dripping with the blood of his siblings. Earthquake didn't knew what happened but something in him snapped.


As Kaizo stalked closer, a loud piercing scream rang through the room. He dropped his sword to cover his ears as it got unbearable, saving his eardrums from exploding. The ground below him cracked making a small sink hole, when the sound stopped there stood Earthquake a few meters away from him with a dark expression “I’m going to kill you.” Quake snarled his brown orbs turning black as the light in his eyes fades completely, Kaizo picked up his discarded sword swinging it to get rid of the stain before turning to Quakes direction “four down one more to go.” Kaizo announced as he pointed his sword at Earthquake “Die now and let us have the peace we have been longing for.” he lunged sword drawn “be the beacon of the new kingdom we are going to create.”

“Die...Die...Die…” Earthquake kept repeating the word like a broken mantra as one by one the memories of his siblings resurfaced along with their final moment, he could feel his sanity wither away, piece by piece until he felt empty. He glared at Kaizos’ direction before letting out a scream “DIE!!!” the room shook as waves of earth spurted from the ground all aimed at Kaizo who tried to dodged  but was knocked by one, knocking him across the room. He collided in one of the pillars causing him to gasp out blood before falling down to the ground. Earthquake watched him with a stoic look before picking up the sword that was dropped earlier from his assault, he stared at the sword with a blank expression “You killed my siblings with this sword, how ironic would it be if I kill you with it.” he smiled smugly as he raised the sword pointing it on Kaizos direction who was pulling himself up. “You took everything from me.” Earthquake announced as he griped the sword tighter, eyes darkening “I’ll make sure you’ll suffer till I take your last breathe from you.”  Kaizo grinned as he spitted out blood while regaining his posture “Give me your best shot.” Kaizo taunted as he opened his arms in a mocking manner. Quake screamed before lunging himself at Kaizo sword raised, Kaizo chuckled as Quake fell into his trap.When quake got closer Kaizo dodged his attack, evading it with a sword he materialized from the shadows.  Their swords clashed over and over until Kaizo got the upper hand “is that all you got?!” Kaizo mocked as he pushed his sword with all his might making earthquake stumble from the force.  Quake side stepped as he loosen his strength on his sword, making Kaizo out balanced himself giving him the opportunity to stabbed him in the gut . It was silent for a while until Kaizo let out a cheeky grin as he grabbed the blade that was plunge in his abdomen and slowly pulled it out, Quake could only watch in horror as blood pooled below them “But...How!?!” Quake exclaimed making kaizo chuckle “I’ve suffered worse.” he explained as he swung his shadow sword cutting Quake’s arm off.  Kaizo watched as his sword attached to Quakes arm fell to the floor, he could hear screaming in the background but he paid it no mind. Quake crumbled to the floor screaming as he clutch his wound trying to stop it from bleeding.  Kaizo walked away leaving Quake to bleed by himself since he have two more people to kill anyway.

“Ying you need to go, please he killed Quake. I don't want you to die too.” Fang pleaded as Ying tried to undo the restraints with her magic “Shut it idiot, just a little more.” Ying exclaimed as she kept chanting,Fang’s eyes widen as he saw his brother already coming their way. A shadow ball casted to their direction “Ying look out.” he cried out, making Ying cast a shield before they were hit. Ying stood in front of him scepter raised as she took her stand “He’s going to kill you Ying, just go! Leave me.” Fang reasoned desperate to save her but Ying shook her head “I’m not going to leave you.” she declared making Fang groan “For once in your life woman stopped being stubborn and go!!!” he yelled as he saw shadow fire coming their way but Ying was too determined to take her stand ‘she’s going to die.’ he thought ‘and it would be my fault, if only I was stronger’ he could feel his blood boil from his pathetic self ‘what are you doing idiot save her!’ his eyes widen as he saw his child version in front of him with arms crossed looking disappointed ‘well, What are you waiting for?!?’ his child version asked ‘didn't you promised that you’ll protect her?! Stop being q baby and save her already’ he demanded, Fang gritted his teeth as he pulled from his restraints, using all his strength to pull away from his brothers rule over him. His child version smiled ‘I believe in you so does Ying, make this right and prove yourself to your brother!’ he said as he vanished, Fang could feel something stirring inside of him like something was breaking and with a last push he broke his restraints “YING!”
