Chapter 5

Serena woke up and had breakfast with Fennekin. She was thinking about the fact she would meet Ash soon and had some lingering doubts in her mind. Will he remember me? Serena thought. Fennekin walked up and put her paw on her trainer's hand.  Serena looked at her partner who had a worried expression on her face.

"I'm fine Fennekin...there's this boy that's currently in Santalune City that I want to find and meet again.  We first met a long time ago and I'm scared that he might have forgotten me."

Fennekin understood for she also was hoping to find someone she pined for.  She wanted to see Froakie again.

"Come on Fennekin" Serena said.  "Let's get on our way."

In Santalune City

Ash is running down a random street psyched for his gym battle when Clemont poses a very important question.

"Do you have any idea where the Santalune gym is?"

"I have no idea" Ash replied.

Everyone fell over anime style.  X shook his head.  What a dumbass, X thought.

"I think better when I've got the muscles in my legs pumping.  Make a sprint for the finish line the whole way and take turns when necessary; always move forward and never look back" Ash said looking at Pikachu. "That's just how we roll, walk into the unknown without fear."

A camera flashed as Ash and Pikachu share a smile.  They looked and saw a blonde-haired woman in her early twenties holding a camera.

"Hey thanks for the great shot.  If you're looking for the Santalune gym it's down at the end of this street" the woman said pointing to her left.

Ash and company thanked her and made a dash for the gym.  X lagged behind and looked at the woman.  He had already figured out who she was.  He chuckled and then put his finger to the lip area of his mask.  The woman caught and just smirked as X ran to catch up to the rest of the gang.  They arrived at the front of the gym.

"Hello in there I request a gym battle with the leader" Ash said.

You forgot the word 'please' moron, X said to himself.  The door to the gym opened and a small black and yellow lizard looking Pokemon hopped out of the building and smacked Ash in the face and knocked him to the ground.

"Helioptile" the Pokemon said.

"It's helioptile" Ash said surprised.

"Hey there Ash" a woman said.  "It's been a while since the airport."

"Hey Alexa it's good to see you" Ash replied.

"So are you here for a battle?" Alexa asked.

"Yeah so where is the gym leader?" Ash asked.  "You said that the leader is your younger sister."

"That would be me" a voice behind them said.

Everyone turned around and saw the blonde woman who had taken the picture of Ash and Pikachu on the fountain.

"Hello my name is Viola and I am the gym leader of the Santalune gym" the woman said.

"Nice to meet you.  I'm Ash and this is my partner Pikachu."

"Pikachu."

"I'm Clemont nice to meet you."

"I'm Bonnie and this is Dedenne"

"Dedenne"

"Nice to meet you" Viola replied.  "So Ash my sister told me a trainer was eager to have gym battle.  I'm guessing she was talking about you"
