Through Shadow and Lightning A Warrior Rises

Chapter 10

Juggernaut ended the call and looked at Alain.  The boy was sleeping on the ground.  Why he didn't come out here with a tent, Juggernaut didn't know.  When X arrived here 16 years ago, Juggernaut was still back in Heaven fighting off the shadows.  There had been a decrease in shadow attacks in heaven, much to the relief of the inhabitants of Heaven.  X was uneasy about this and looked deeper as to why the attacks lessened.  He and Juggernaut knew a shadow's ways never changed.  They would keep attacking until they had crushed their enemy or they would find a new target.  X had suspected the latter and as it turned out the shadows had come to harvest this world.  Juggernaut did not hesitate to come to his brother's aid when he called and brought along two young, but capable and hungry angels.  When they arrived X caught them up on everything that had happened and to wait for instructions.  Eventually, Juggernaut got assigned to Alain, a young man with an appetite for battle.  Alain used to be an assistant for one Augustine Sycamore, but decided to set out with a Charmander from the lab and become the strongest trainer.  Juggernaut had rolled his eyes at the assignment at first.  Most humans like this didn't have the backbone to get past their struggles keyword "most".  Alain had set out and eventually his Charmander evolved into a strong Charmeleon.  The next step for Alain was to retrieve a mega stone.  It was there that he met a man named Lysandre and was recruited for an experiment for Lysandre Labs.  He was told to battle trainers that possessed a Pokemon that could Mega Evolve.  Alain was given a special holder for his mega stone that would capture the mega evolution energy from those battles.  A little while into his journey did Juggernaut reveal himself and had been helping train Alain and Charizard in serious combat.  After a few weeks of training Alain had some slight growth in his arms and his abs started becoming more defined.  Overall, he had a muscular frame about him.  His strength and speed grew from the training and his Charizard was stronger and faster as well.  Yesterday's training was rather exhausting for Alain and Charizard after they went a half hour longer than usual.  Even Juggernaut admitted that he pushed them too far, so he would let them rest for today to recover.  The morning light came and Alain woke up.  He brought out Charizard, fed him, and gave him a Sitrus Berry to help with the soreness from the training.  Alain did this in case they came across a trainer that had mega evolution.  Her name was Astrid and she had an Absol.  The battle was tough, but Charizard managed to pull out a victory as Mega Charizard X.  After the battle they were approached by a rookie trainer named Mairin and her Chespin (whom she nicknamed Chespie).  She was a chatterbox and brought up the incident in Lumiose City involving Ash and Garchomp.  Alain received orders to go to some ruins where they encountered another trainer that had a mega stone and keystone.  The man throws out his Pokemon, which is a Garchomp.  Alain throws out Charizard and the battle begins.  After a long battle Charizard won and Alain got new orders.  He was to seek out Siebold of the elite four.  Juggernaut and Alain set off immediately and Mairin followed them.  Juggernaut knew that Mairin was following them and brought it to Alain, but Alain didn't have a problem with it.  They got to a restaurant and went in.  Once they were seated a waiter came out and asked for their order, to which Alain replied he would like to see the "special menu".  Alain and company was brought out to the back of the restaurant and Alain had a battle with Siebold.  He lost however the outcome was expected given Alain faced one of the elite four.

"Sir, all assignments have been completed" Alain spoke into a communicator.

"Return to base immediately" a voice said on the other end.

"We're heading back to base" Alain said.

"What are we going to do with her?" Juggernaut asked pointing at Mairin.

"I suppose she can stick around for now" Alain said.

A helicopter landed and they all got in.  While on the way back Juggernaut was looking at the latest PokeVision videos.  Normally he wasn't interested in these types of things, but it did come in handy trying to understand the humans of this world.  While scrolling he found a video that had X in the thumbnail.  He tapped the tablet and played the video.  It was a video explaining everyone's hobbies, characteristics, and strengths.  Of course, it had X and Ash doing some hardcore training.

"Hey that's the trainer" Mairin said suddenly.

Juggernaut and Alain looked at her.  Mairin pointed at the screen.

"That's that trainer I told you about" she said.  "It's Ash."

"He looks strong" Alain commented.

Juggernaut nodded.  He finished the video and looked for any others that might be interesting.  There was one of a girl with red hair that caught his eye and he played it.  It was a young girl with a Fennekin.  The girl's name was Aria and she was the holder of the title Kalos Queen.  It was a title given to the performer who's performances stood out above the rest.

"Hey Alain look at this one" Juggernaut said.  "If you ever meet this girl, I say shoot your shot."

Alain rolled his eyes.  "What makes you think I would be looking for someone like that?"

"She's the complete opposite of you and therefore completes you" Juggernaut said.  "Plus you're blushing so there is some truth to those statements."

Alain turned away and looked out the window as Mairin giggled.  Juggernaut was about to turn off the tablet when he got a notification from one of the satellites Lysandre Labs owned.  He opened it and it showed some photographs that were taken.  It showed an entire village decimated with few buildings still standing.  Juggernaut downloaded the files to his communicator and sent them to X while labeling it "URGENT: OPEN YESTERDAY".  This isn't good, Juggernaut thought closing the tablet.  The shadows are on the move and they are more aggressive each day.  War might come sooner than we anticipated.
