Chapter No.92 Ugly
Somethings are better left unseen.
A long line of older people was lined up to what could only be described as pure hell. Each person removed their clothing, handing it neatly folded to an attendant, and then knelt down and placed their neck in a curved block. A large blade swung down and cleanly chopped their head off. Their body was swept into a large grinder by a large hinged flat board. The grinder rendered their bodies into a gruel that was flushed down into a processor creating square cakes of something made from their bodies.
I turned to Marie. "Soylent Green!"
She frowned. "Yes! This is terrible!"
"I agree." I turned to the woman. "Ah, thanks for showing us all of this. I think we've seen enough."
She didn't react. We walked back to our fighter and wasted no time in going back up to our ship.
"We saw what you did," Molly said. "What idiots! They could easily control over population with drugs."
"Evidently, they don't believe in that method."
"Well, their method is ridiculous!"
"To us, but evidently not to them."
We didn't discuss what we saw until after our communal supper when we retired to my living area.
"Well, I am totally disgusted with humans," I said. "If that was the genesis proto human species, I don't understand why the originator didn't just destroy them and start over."
"We're not certain that this is the genesis species," Molly said. "Maybe this is just another version of human."
"I would hope that you're right. Those idiots don't deserve to be anything."
"We could force them to use birth control methods," Margaret said.
"Yes, we could, but I don't think it's up to us to dictate what they do. From what we have recently learned, there could be many other versions of human life in our universe, and maybe in many other universes. We certainly don't need to preserve the species."
"Does that mean that we won't support the humans we introduced to Earth?" Alexa asked.
"No, but we certainly don't have to add any more. We do have a responsibility to protect them, but that's it as far as I'm concerned,"
"Speaking of what we have learned, I have received the most recent data from the multiverse roamers," Molly said. "And, I think it's very interesting."
We all turned to her. "What have they found?" I asked.
"Display the latest multiverse structure data," Molly said.
The main screen in my living area lit up with a most interesting image of a structure made up of billions of universes.
"Oh my God!" Marie blurted. "That looks like a . . . a nipple attached to a breast!"
I smiled. "Yes, it certainly does."
"Yeah, you certainly know what they look like!" Molly said.
"Is that part of the multiverse being?" Margaret asked.
"I believe it is," Molly said, still smiling.
"The being is a female," Marie said.
"That could be the case," I said. "And, if it is, then the being definitely could look human. If this being is the originator, then it would explain why the genesis proto species is human."
"That's taking a lot of leaps in logic," Marie said. "We really don't know if this multiverse structure is a living being,"
"I agree, but it certainly is interesting."
No one refuted that opinion,
However, our evening relaxation was about to be disrupted when Molly placed a hand to her extended belly.
"I think it's time," she said.
That set into motion a whole lot of activity as the androids escorted her to the medical station down the corridor. We all gathered to watch the miracle of birth. Molly's face distorted with pain and she squealed as the baby made its way down to freedom.
One last push and cry of pain did the trick. The androids took over to cut the cord and clean up the baby so that they could present it to its mother.
Molly smiled when she experienced breast feeding. She turned to look up at us. "I never thought I would be doing this."
"It's a boy," I said. "It has outdoor plumbing."
They laughed.
"Welcome to motherhood," Margaret told her. "What are you going to name him?"
"I think I'll name him Edward," she replied. "It was my father's name."
All the women congratulated her. I decided to take my leave. This was strictly a female event. Alex and Vincent followed me. We elected to retire to the Black Hole bar to spend a guy-type evening.
Even then, we couldn't avoid the scantily clad barmaids who served us the elixir of male life, beer.
"What's up with the women?" Vince asked. "They seem totally into motherhood. We're androids, not human."
"That's true, but our instincts and feelings are still human, and for women, giving birth is what they do."
"Yeah!" Alex blurted. "We men are into knocking them up!"
"Actually, that capability was only recently activated," I said. "For the longest time, our libidos were out to lunch."
"Why was that?" Vince asked.
"I'm not sure. Maybe the android collective wasn't sure how we would use an increase in libido. I think they were wary of Molly and me for quite some time because of our emotions."
"I heard that she tried to dominate you and make you her personal slave," Alex said.
"That she did, but the collective wouldn't allow it."
"And yet, they made you the prime mover. You could easily dominate all of us."
"That's not my style of leadership. I believe in respect and don't want to be a tyrant."
"That is why we made you the prime mover, Jason," Alyson said, as she nuzzled up close to me and caressed my hair. "You are genuinely concerned about our wellbeing."
The men raised their glasses. "To our prime mover! May he lead us to greater glory!" they said in unison.
I wasn't sure what sort of glory they expected, but it was not something I desired. My main goal was to secure the peace and tranquility of our universe and for all life in the multiverse.
I retired to my bed to watch some more Star Trek Voyager episodes, when I noticed a figure appear out of the shadows.
"Good evening," I said to Marie as she climbed onto my bed and nuzzled close to me. "What brings you to my bed this evening?"
She sighed and then stared at me with resolute eyes. "I want to have a child."
I smiled. "I'm surprised. You have already given birth twice and the issue from those are with you now."
"Yes, but we're not really related now. They're just two androids like me."
"Yeah, I understand how you feel."
She gave me a solicitous expression. "Would you do the honors?"
"I would be honored," I said.
That initiated a very vigorous encounter that resulted in a protracted copulative union.
