Chapter No. 166. New Enemy

It's not over yet.

We were all listening to what Molly had to say about the weird aliens of the planet we were orbiting.

"I've detected gamma brain waves from a single source. I believe they're being used to control these aliens."

"That makes sense, but it still doesn't explain why we're not seeing any young people."

"Have you isolated the source of those waves?" Alexa asked her.

"Yes, they're centered under a large structure." She used a digital pointer to show where it was on the main screen display of the planet's major city.

"This could be a Tyco trap," I said.

"It could be, but I'm not getting the vibes I usually get when we're near that bastard."

I rubbed my jaw. "Okay, you and I will go down there and check it out." I turned to Judy. "Remain at Yellow Alert Status."

Alexa and I teleported to the underground chamber where the gamma waves were coming from. We found a device that appeared to be active.

"Yep, that's where they're coming from," Alexa said after scanning it with her hand-held unit.

"Let's assume this is how these people are being controlled. The question is: why?"

Alexa began a scan for life forms. "I'm detecting several life signals from beyond that wall." She pointed to the wall behind the device.

I sensed what was behind that wall, and it disturbed me. "I'm sensing that there are plant creatures in there."

"I didn't detect them."

"I think we have a serious problem here. I think I'll call for Alice and Ben to come down here with BFG's."

"Are you expecting a confrontation?" Alexa asked.

"Yes."

Alice and Ben appeared holding BFG's, the weapon of choice for androids.

"I'm sensing that there are plant creatures behind that wall. We're all going to teleport to the large area beyond that wall. We could be in a confrontation."

They both nodded.

We appeared in a large chamber that was a scene from a horror show. Several plant creatures were busy placing children in what looked like cocoons. The children appeared to in a stupor and were not resisting.

"What the fuck are they doing?" Alexa reacted with a stern frown.

"I think they're storing them for shipment back to their planet," I said. "Evidently, they consider them to be a delicacy."

She frowned. "That's disgusting!"

The plant creatures saw us and raised what appeared to be weapons. Alice and Ben didn't waste time in blasting them. The plasma shots made them burst into flame.

Energy beam shots came from an inner chamber full of cocoons. Alice and Ben returned fire and soon had the situation under control.

Alexa and I used hand-held laser knives to cut open the cocoons so that we could release the children.

"I'm going to go back to the other chamber and deactivate the gamma wave generator."

Alexa nodded.

I wasn't sure how I was going to deactivate it, so I made it vanish. I had no idea what that would do, but I soon found out when I arrived back in the cocoon chamber. The children were crying and fearful. I didn't blame them.
