Olivias POV

After Ryan left, I couldn't stop thinking about what he said. "You don't have to hide from me". It kept replaying in my head again and again.

It left me completely shocked. We'd only known each other for a little while yet he had already trusted me and didn't want me to hide from him. It sounds too good to be true.

Wait.

Maybe this is too good to be true. What if this was all a prank and I had just made a big fool out of myself.

I quickly pushed those thoughts away as I tried to sleep. I sat there for a while staring at the ceiling, not clouding my head with a bunch of terrible thoughts. Sooner or later, my eyelids started to feel heavy and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

____________

"AHHH" I screamed after hearing my alarm. Damn. That scared the hell out of me.

Ughhh I don't wanna get up. I slept late last night and I didn't wanna get up this early.

Not wanting to miss school, I got up,went to the bathroom, threw on some sweatpants and a hoodie, grabbed an apple and left the house.

I ate the apple on the way to school and stopped by Dunkin' Donuts to get my usual order of a medium iced vanilla late.

When I entered the store, I immediately saw Salma (the new worker). She looked flawless. I still can't get over her beautiful features. She has a small round face with a sharp jawline, hooded light brown eyes, light pink cheeks, a small nose and soft pink lips. If that doesn't sound like a stunning girl then I don't know what does.

My mood suddenly lifted after seeing Salma. When it was my turn, her face lit up "Olivia!" She practically screamed. I'm not complaining tho, I'm surprised and happy that she remembered me and was happy to see me. Also, how does she have this much energy in the morning like damn girl.

"Hey Salma" I greeted nicely. She smiled at me and said "what would you like today madam" in a British accent, wait lemme rephrase that, an attempt at a British accent. That made me let out a laugh and soon she joined me.

"I would like a medium iced vanilla late please" in a British accent and it actually sounded like a British accent. "Wow you should teach me how to speak like that, its way better than mine" Salma said, while writing down my order on the cup.

After getting my drink and driving back to school, i felt giddy and my mood lifted. It was because of Salma. I guess it felt nice to talk to a girl who wasn't trying to ruin my life and wasn't self centered.
____________

"Hey Olivia, wait up!" Mark yelled when he saw me at my locker.

I've been trying to avoid him because I didn't want him to ask me about yesterday. I don't like lying to people and I'm definitely not good at it.

If he's suspicious about yesterday then I'll have to tell him about the threats but I dont wanna get him involved in this. It's already enough that I got Ryan into this mess.

I pretended that I didn't hear him and started speed walking towards my car.

That did not work. He's wayyy more athletic than me, and got to my car before I did.

"Oh hi mark. What are you doing here?" I said when I got to my car. I know I said I hate lying but I don't want him to confront me about ignoring him all day.

"I've been trying to talk to you all day. Is everything okay?" He asked.

Phew I don't think he's talking about yesterday.

"Sorry I didn't notice but yeah everything's fine. Why?" I responded.

He looked like he was about to say something then debated on it and didn't say it. He stood there for a few seconds with a puzzled expression on his face.

"Umm nothing just checking up" mark finally said, with a nervous chuckle at the end.

Weird.

I was about to reply to him but the sound of my phone interrupted me. It sounded like I got a text message.

I looked at my screen and saw that Salma texted me. Wait. How does she have my number?

Oh yeah she asked for my number the first time I met her. I wish I could be as social as her.

She said 'get ready Olivia we're going to the malllllll!' Wow she had to add that many l's.

"Sorry mark I have to go but thanks for checking up on me"

"Oh no problem. If you don't mind if I ask, where are you going?" He said with a fake suspicious look on his face.

"On a date with your brother" I blurted.

"WHA-" he tried to yell but I cut him off with my laughter. His face was priceless. It looked like he was gonna strangle his brother and I.

"Why the hell are you laughing?" He said with a voice that says 'I'm bothered but my ego is too big so I won't show it'.

"I'm not actually going on a date with him, I'm just going to a mall with my friend" I said.

His face immediately relaxed. "Whaaat Olivia has a new friend and she's going out. Wow this person must be a freaking angel to get you to go out that easily" Mark said.

Old Mark is back.

Yay (note the sarcasm)
