Once the seven members were settled in their hiding place and stable to survive, Otto thought there was enough room for one more person. Mrs. Van Daan or Mr. Van Daan were already difficult to deal with, so their relatives were rejected.

Instead of that, a dentist named Albert Dussel was chosen. He was experienced but wanted to do more patients, and he was Jewish, surprisingly, he remained that way before hiding. And on a Monday November 1942, he came to the Annex. The date isn't in Anne's diary, but she does specifically say the date in an early entry. Albert Dussel Arrives Monday 11 A.M.

He and Anne share a room, but Anne doesn't mind. Especially in hiding, they had to be flexible with it. It wasn't like Anne could go out into the world, Hitler made it difficult for any Jewish Person to even step foot in property. Anne feared of being arrested or shot.

Now, their Annex Had eight people hiding. But it still wasn't perfect or calming in there.
