RIGHT BACK AT ME

''Are you gonna finish that?'' I asked Dave after noticing the thirty minutes of him not eating his chocolate milk shake.

''Yeah, why?'' He smiled

''Just asking''

I heard him chuckle before replacing my now empty glass of milkshake with his .

''I guess I'm not a fan of milk too''

''Are you even human?'' I flashed a sarcastic look at him.

''No Mel, I'm actually an alien from outer space.''

I laughed from his sarcastic answer. Then i could feel the air become denser and my laugh cut short. I guess Dave noticed my sudden change of attitude because he turned shifting his gaze to where my mine was.

Alec my ex boyfriend was coming right at our direction with his eyes staring right into mine.

''Hey babe, mind if i join you?'' He smirked

''Babe??? Really now?? Babe Alec?'' I gushed at his sentence

''Oh and no don't join us. It would be even better if you turn and go back to where you came from''. I added

''Well, look who got her humanity back on'' taken aback by the sharpness in my voice.

'' ughhh!! Would you just leave Alec, please?''
I could sense the weird scenario that i was putting Dave in.

''I just wanna speak to my girlfriend, thats all''

''Girlfriend?!! Seriously?''
I was now on my feet ready to shove his head on the table. I bet my whole face is red at the moment.

''Yes Mel, girlfriend'' Answering with his chin held high

''I am no longer your girlfriend Alec''

''Could you please remind me when did we actually break up''

Thats when it hit me. I really did never break up with Alec.

''Great, that was what i was expecting. Now, could I please talk to you?'' He pulled a chair and sat right next to me.
A waitress came and asked for his order.

''Chocolate flavored milkshake please''

He still ordered the same drink that we used to order every day we came here.

''So babe, why don't you tell this bimbo to fuck off for a while.''

''FYI he's not a bimbo nor am i your so called babe. I wonder which one is'' I snapped back at him rolling my eyes.

''Mel, would you please listen to what I'm gonna say to you without that period attitude that you've put on.''

Okay that does it

''Leave!! Right now!!''

''No, I'm not leaving until you hear me out. Unless you wanna cause a commotion.''

I forced myself to relax but thats only because i felt Dave's hand tense on my wrist.

''You have five minutes'' my tone softened now.

''I want you back Mel. I want us to be like how we were before Emma died.''

I could feel my heart tighten from the words that Alec said.

''How can you even have the audacity to come down here and say that to me?'' My eyes were beginning to tear up

''Because i still love you. I've never stopped loving you''

''You left me!!'' My voice was higher now and a few people turned to our table.

Dave finally decided to leave

''You pushed me away. You were the one who forced me to leave you. I came by your place everyday. I knew where your spare key was, right under your doormat. I always checked on you. You wouldn't even look at me but i still came''

''Stop, please stop'' tears were now streaming down my face

''I fucking skipped classes for you, just to be with you. But you always pushed me away. What did you expect me to do?''

''You were not supposed to leave. You could have tried harder'' I murmured wiping the tears from my cheeks.

''That was not hard enough for you? It reached a time you didn't even notice my presence. I was freaking tired Mel!!''

''If you still love me, why were you being so mean to me? Why were you bullying me?''

''Because it was the only way for you to notice me.''
