Unlike most of his former classmates, James missed Hogwarts dearly. He was the most popular kid and always had someone to talk to. But here, at this Halloween party, out of school, James realized that was no longer the case. While his friends got to go and dance with their significant others, James was stuck on the couch, staring at his best friend, and love of his life, dance away with another man. If the night couldn't be getting any worse, he watched them song before making it to the dance floor to dance in ways James never wanted to see. Just great.
"James mate there you are!" James looked up to see Fred standing with a red solo cup in hand. He sat down next to him and sighed. "What have you been doing?" Fred looked around as he noticed James' eyes drift towards Emma and Jay.
"You still like her don't you?"he questioned.
"Of course I do Fred. And to make matters worse, now I have two ex girlfriends off living their lives with better men while I'm stuck alone forever."
"Alice is actually single. She broke up with Blake Thomas a couple weeks ago." James looked over at his friend confused. "That's beside the point," Fred continued, "I told you not to date Tracey it only ends in heartbreak. Just tell Emma how you feel."
"To get rejected and loose my best friend? Yeah no thanks."
"Your loss then."
Fred got up again and walked through the dance floor leaving James alone. He continued to watch as Jay pulled Emma's hand away into an unclaimed bedroom. Fuck. James felt like dying at this moment but instead finished his cup of rum. He was going to drink the night away if that's what it took to make him happy.
