"Is it okay if I leave you here for a bit? I promise I'll come back to get you."
"'Kay, But you better come back! It's getting dark and I don't want to be in the woods alone." I said as I looked up at my older brother.
He smiled sadly before saying,"I'll try, but I might not be able to come right away. It might be days before you see me." He ruffled my hair as he started climbing down the tree house's ladder.
"It's okay! No matter how long it takes I'll always be waiting here for you!" I shouted as I leaned down to watch him leave. I smiled to myself as I turned away from the ladder.
At the time, I didn't think that it would be months before I saw him again.

As I grabbed my stuff and headed out the front door, I was roughly shoved to the ground. "Tch." I quickly got up, wiping the dirt off of my pants. I turned around to see my parents glaring at me as I grabbed my suitcase. My younger sister had her hands out, most likely because she pushed me."Don't worry, you'll never see my face ever again. You'll be the perfect family, now that the bastard is gone. I guess you got your wish after all." I said cynically as I left the front door of the beautiful mansion, not looking back once.
Goodbye horrible family and hello freedom.
