Memory Pandemonium (The World God Only Knows FanFiction)

Chapter 5

     Keima was brought to the medical office by Chihiro and Ayumi. Now he is lying down on a bed while the the 3 girls stayed by his bed side. Keima was still holding on his chest while being unconscious. He was breathing irregularly which worried the girls. 

   After a few moments the nurse enters the clinic. "Oh? It seems that I have a new patient." She then proceeds to Keima's bed and places her hand on his forhead just to check his temperature. She then starts to check him for any signs or symptoms for any possible sicknesses.

"Hmmm..." "What happened to him to cause him to his current state?" The nurse then asked the girls as she sat down on a chair that she  pulled from the corner of the room. "Well, we ere talking about our band practice and we noticed that he seemed to be shaking and when we asked him what was wrong he just fell to the floor holding his chest." Chihiro said to the nurse who was now sitting cross legged. "Hmmm, alright." She then stood up and went to the medicine cupboard.

"Will, he be alright?" Elsie asked with a worried face. The nurse simply glanced at them at returned to finding the medicine. " He will be ok, it doesn't seemed to be anything serious more like there was a quick cramp at his heart muscle." She said without looking at them. "WHAT!?!" The girls except Elsie said who was just staring at her. "Don't worry I know that it sounds bad but it really that serious, trust me." She said as she found the pills and gave them to Chihiro. "Here, make sure that he takes 2 of them today and 2 tomorrow and he will be in great shape afterwards." The nurse told them as she then exits the clinic, mumbling that she needs a quick snack.  As they were left there alone, the atmosphere suddenly became quiet as they didn't say anything to each other as they watched over Keima. The silence continued, Chihiro was fiddling with her fluffy key chain while ayumi was playing games at her phone and Elsie poking at Keima's face who then groan which caused Elsie to jump back a bit. Ayumi was the one who then broke the silence. She sighed as she placed her phone away. "Hey, Chihiro." She called out in which Chihiro stooped playing around and replied back."Hm?" "...Do...you still like Keima?" Chihiro's smile then disappeared as she then had her head down with her hair covering her eyes . "I thought you knew to never talked about that again." Ayumi then regretting her decision then looked away. "I-Im sorry" After a few more seconds of silence, which is now awkward, Chihiro then replied. "I...I still like him." She said without moving her head which made Ayumi look back to her. "Chihiro..." Ayumi said with regret and worry in her face. " When I went with him on the school festival, I felt love then. My heart was beating so much of what we did and I enjoyed it, I never imagined someone like him can make me feel like that in a certain way." Chihro then began to tremble a bit. " Even after the time he dumped me, even after that my feeling for him didn't change." Chihiro then remain still again as she then sighs and just looks out of the window. "It's just after all this time I don't know what to do, I act like I don't care about what happened and just treat him the same way."

   When Chihiro said this a small current of wind then blows through the window cooling the room a bit and making the curtains play a bit. The door then opened as Elsie enters the room. " Hai, Chihiro-san, Ayumi-san I got us some snacks." Elsie had some milk and yogurt drinks with some sweet bread and sat down on a cair and gave the snacks to them. "Elsie? I didn't really notice you go out." Ayumi said as she took of the wrapper of the sweet bread and started eating it. "Well, when you were all playing around I went out and bought some snacks." Elsie said with a smile. "Anyway, what did you guys talked about? I mean the mood here is kinda serious and sad." Elsie asked with question and curiosity in her face. Ayumi and Chihiro were serious for a moment before Chihiro replied with a smile. "Eh, nothing." She then had a smirk."Just maybe talking of hot boys of an erotic magazine we found." Elsie then blushes and looked away. "O-oh" Elsie then played with her fingers whike looking away and blushing which made Chihiro and Ayumi laugh. It was then that the bell rang signifying that its the 5th period of class, PE. "Oh, I gotta go now." Ayumi said as she stood up bringing her wrappers with her. "Eh why?" Chihiro and Elsie asked in the same time. " There is a track race where we have to compete against some schools and I was chosen by the coach to participate." Ayumi then walked out of the clinic waving bye. " Afterwards Ayumi exits, Elsie then had a face as if she remebered something and stood up." Oh I have to help the P.E teacher on coaching the girls swimming team!" She then proceeds to lightly jog to the door. "Bye Chihiro-san, don't forget to make sure that Keima takes his pills!" Elsie says as she then closes the door. 

Chihiro then sighed as she is left alone with Keima. She glances at Keima and stares at his sleeping face. What she said to Ayumi was really true and her feelings never faded away. As she continued to stare, her heart started to pound. She placed her hand at her beating heart as she tried to calm it down. She then looked back at Keima and placed her hand slowly and hesitantly on his hair. She then proceeds to stroke his hair as she looks at him with care and love. ' HIs hair sure is soft' She smiles on what she thought ' Keima... I still like you, even if it was just a quick time, even if it was only a few days, I still like you...if only you knew.' Afterwards Keima groans which made Chihiro retract her hand.  Keima was now awake and he looked to the left and saw Chihiro. "Ah, you're finally awake." Chihiro said with a smile. Keima, still being half asleep, sleepily said "Chihiro?". Chihiro just laughed. " Yes its me, now get up Otamegane because you still have to take some medicine." Chihiro then went to the water dispenser to get a cup of water while Keima sat up from the bed. Chihiro then returned and gave him the medicine and pills. "Oh, aregato." Keima then took in the pills as he just sad there while Chihiro watches him. 

There was then an awkward silence as they both sit there quietly. After a while Keima breaks it. "I-im sorry." Chihiro looks back with confusion. "That night of the school festival...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." Chihiro after hearing this looked at Keima with the first expression as surprise, then sadness, then brushed it off and gave a neutral face. "It's fine, besides you already  moved on, as you started to be close with Ayumi." "I-I.." Keima stuttered but couldn't find the words to say.  He then started to feel it, GUILT. " I know that what I did rally hurt you, I'm sorry." Keima said now with his head hung low. Chihiro then stood up. " I have to go now, get well." She said with a neutral voice. Keima is now left alone at the nurses clinic. Head still hung low, he started to tear up. As he did the Guilt grew, it started to hurt him emotionally. " Chihiro, I'm so sorry... I just...if you knew what happened then. If only I didn't had a job to do then, if only I didn't have to capture loose souls, if only I didn't had to find the goddesses, if only I didn't have to fill others hearts. If only... I met you first." As Keima said this, more tears started to drip into the sheets, and a faint golden aura started to become transparent. It was emitting from Keima. "If...only." As he said this the golden aura grew and he started to glow, after a few moments the glow disappeared as did the aura. As a dazed Keima stood up, he held his head as a sharp head ache hit him. He looked for the pain killers and drank them. The pain subsided as he exited the clinic and walked towards the Cafeteria for something to eat. As he did, the thought remained in his head," If only."
