Chapter 10: The Controller
I saw a nurse injecting something to my skin. I silently looked around without moving my body. This is not the infirmary. Where am I?
"You're awake."
"You're in the hospital. Your friends are coming later to visit you," she said. "Just lay down for minutes. The medicine I injected will also make you feel nauseous."
Stay here and rest for a while."
I tried to sit down, but she shook her head, telling me to not try. She nodded before leaving me alone in this room.
After twenty minutes of laying down, I decided to take off all of what's injected to my hand.
"Mr. Hartford! The Headmistress restricted you to visit her! You need to let her rest! Please!"
We stared at each other's eyes for a while before I sighed and looked back outside of the window.
"Fine. Ten minutes," the nurse said before leaving us alone. Hindi na ako nag-abala pang lumingon.
"Miss Galaxy—"
"Leave," I coldly said. "Leave me alone."
I do not have the energy to argue or talk to him. I also do not have the energy to deal with his insulting and annoying words.
I heard his footsteps. "Didn't the nurse tell you to rest? Why did you remove those stupid and nonsense things injected to you?"
"I'm fine already," I answered. "Like what you've said, all of those are just stupid injections and medicines.''
"I was just checking you," he said, sighing. "I was checking if you're still alive."
"I am alive. You don't have to worry anymore."
"Good," he said. "Do not die, Amara."
I raised my brow when I noticed a quick glimpse of softness in his eyes. He turned around to face the window.
"Hartford."
"Hmm?"
"What's my magic?" I asked, curiously. I still remember everything.
