Chapter 13: Surprise

"Amara?" I looked up and saw Danayah. Nang mapagtanto niyang ako 'to, mabilis siyang naglakad palapit sa akin. "Oh my gosh! What are you doing here?!"

Tinulungan niya akong makatayo at inalalayan sa upuan. "How did you find me?"

"May pinabigay si Ryzien sa teacher na nasa kabilang silid, eh. Tapos nakita ko 'yung pinto na bahagyang nakabukas. I was curious so I took a look and saw someone. It happened to be you," nakangiting sabi niya at tinitingnan ang pulsa ko. Danayah knows how to heal. It is also one of her magic.

"Are you not feeling well?" She asked. "Gusto mo ba dalhin kita sa infi—"

"I'm sorry if you felt like I was pushing you away." Natigilan siya at nagulat sa biglang paghingi ko ng tawad. "I am not good at socializing. I've been living in a world where I felt like I did not belong to. I had no friends back then. Maybe, I just do not know how to interact properly with others. Bukod kay Kai, you and your friends were the only people who tried to be friends with me."

After being shocked for a few seconds, she smiled and shook her head. "It's okay. Siguro nabigla ka lang na biglang may mga tao na may kapangyarihan na rin ang kumakausap sayo. If I were you, I would also feel the same way. It's hard to trust people in this world if I am in your situation."

Lumabas na kami ni Danayah dahil may sunod na kaming klase. I let her be with me during our classes. She also told me if I want to eat with them later with her friends. I was about to refuse but I saw hope in her eyes so I said yes.

"Does it feel like we were befriending you because of what the Headmistress told us?"

I shrugged. "A little. To be honest, I was getting used to your presence."

"It's not because of that, okay? I really really want to be your friend! Gusto ko rin ang kulay ng mata mo! And how it changes!"

Napatawa ako dahil sobrang tuwa ni Danayah habang sinasabi 'yon. Kung dati, tinatago ko ang kulay ng mata ko dahil hindi ito magiging normal sa mundo kung nasaan ako dati, ngayon ay nagugustuhan na ng ibang tao ito. I wasn't even seeing it as pretty. Wala lang ito sa akin. I wonder... Does my mother's eyes just looks black? Or does it change? I can see visions of her, but it was all blurred.

"Amara!" Tumayo si Tyron at mabilis na kumaway nang makitang magkasama kami ni Danayah. Napatingin ako sa paligid dahil sa mga tingin sa akin ng iba habang sila ay nagbubulungan. Nalipat naman ang tingin ko kay Leiah na seryosong nakatingin lang sa akin.

"Hey." I smiled and sat down beside Leiah. In front of us three are Rei and Tyron. Ryzien isn't here. I do not expect him to be here after that.

"You look... beautiful! I love you hair! You look like a Goddess!" Tyron winked, mabilis siyang binatukan ni Rei.

"Malandi 'tong tao na 'to, pagpasensyahan mo na," he said, laughing. At sa gitna ng paglolokohan nila sa isa't isa, Leiah coughed which caught my attention.

She was looking on her plate while playing with the pasta using her fork. "How... Uhm... How are you?" She hesitantly asked, pababa nang pababa ang tono na para bang nahihiya iparinig sa akin ang tanong niya.

"I'm good," I answered and smiled again.

They talk about things like nothing happened recently. Kung paano sila maglokohan at magtawanan, magbiruan at magsungitan, para bang wala na lang sa kanila ang nangyari na atake. Parang hindi sila lumaban para iligtas si Auntie. All of them aren't mentioning or talking about it. Kung mababanggit man, pabiro na inaasar ni Tyron si Rei na kung wala raw siya ay patay na si Rei dahil sobrang lakas niya. I didn't feel uncomfortable about it though.
