Chapter 5: Destiny

I sprinted to work hoping I wasn't gonna be late. When I finally made it to the door I was huffing and puffing. I took off my running shoes I had on and slipped into some flats. I walked up to the office door. I was about to open the door, when I heard some voices talking. "We must tell her." A voices that sounded like Mr. Solstice said. "She still isn't ready Sol. What do you think will happen if you tell her that she is part of a prophecy that was foretold like a thousand years ago?" A voice I didn't recognize said. "Well....." Mr. Solstice started to speak. I quickly knocked on the big oak doors, saving him from answering the other voice. "May I come in, Mr. Solstice?" I asked. "Come on in Livie." I walked in to the office space. "Livie." I looked at Mr. Solstice. "Yes, sir." "I have something to tell you." He looked at the other person that I just noticed was still there. The guy just said. "Do what you want Sol, but as a friend I did advise you not to." Then he left closing the door with a bang. We stood there in an uncomfortable silence. After a few minutes I asked, "What do you have to tell me?" "To answer that I will have to go to a long time ago." He answered. "As you know 100 years ago all of the human race had to move underground to escape the alien creachers, that was in year 2918." He stopped to take breath. "Please continue sir." I asked him. Mr. Solstice nodded and continued. "Well 1,000 years prier, an old monk foretold the change in a way of a prophecy. It went something like this. "On the thousandth year, on the hundredth day the world will change beyond belief." But there is a part only few know of. "But don't fear for 100 years later 5 children with five birthmarks. A wolf- strong willed and loyal. A owl- wise and clever. A cheetah- fast, cunning, and loyal. A turtle- strong, defender and smart. And lastly a heart- caring, healing, and the heart of the group. These five children will put the world back to the right state. But beware of the creachers that will try and stop them. Matching all the birthmarks excepted the heart. These creatures are powerful and dangerous ,but the most powerful one is named Crimson. He is the strongest and most terrifying one of all." Mr. Solstice took a breath. "Um...... so why are you telling me this?" I asked stunned. "Because my dear Livie you have one of the marks." I looked at my boss like he had grown two heads. "I have what now?" "One of the marks more specifically the heart one. The power to heal others, heal your self, and lead the chosen ones." I think on what he just said realizing that it made sense. I had healed him from a stab wound just yesterday. "I did heal you yesterday. So that makes sense. So what do I need to get and when am I going?" Mr. Solstice looked surprised. "I was expecting a little more resistance. But you are going to leave as soon as possible."

That being said I'm doing this for my own enjoyment and I possibly want to become a author of a book series. I can only improve if I have feed back.
