Ben clings to the side of the cliff, his hand shaking, using all the strength that he had left within him to get to Rey. He whips his other arm around, propelling himself up and over the side of the cliff. His eyes search the dark and smoky grounds for a life form. Rey. He saw her lifeless form, cold and stiff lying on her side. Ben quickly stood up, pain spreading throughout his body. He was limping from the wound Palpatine gave him previously, but he kept going. He wouldn't stop until he got to Rey. Rey wasn't moving. She wasn't moving. In a big thud, he fell to his knees and started to crawl his way over to her. When he saw her pale frame, his heart sank. She was...dead. Ben grunted as he moved his wounded leg under Rey as he picked her up in his arms. She looked so pale. Her eyes that always had a spark in them were dull. Ben desperately looked around to see if anyone could help. But what was he thinking? Of course, there wouldn't be anyone here who could help him. Hot tears swelled within his eyes. He embraced Rey in his arms, hugging her frail body tight. Suddenly, he remembered when Rey had healed the wound she previously gave him during their fight on Exegol. Of course! He could use the little life force that was left in him and give it to Rey. He knew what he had to do, and he did have the strength to do it. He had the strength to do anything for Rey if it meant saving her life. Ben placed his hand upon Rey's stomach and closed his eyes. He breathed. Slowly, focusing on the force within him and extracting it from his body. "More, more." He said, reaching through the force. He felt something touch his hand and his eyes shot open, searching Rey. Rey's chest began to move rapidly as she started to breathe again. Her hand was still placed on Ben's. Ben's heart swelled with such happiness that tears started to swell in his eyes again. But these were different tears than he had experienced many times before. Different than the tears he had after being tormented and beaten by his former masters. These were tears of pure and unmistakable joy. Rey's eyes searched everywhere until she noticed that it was Ben who had saved her and was holding her tightly. Rey couldn't believe he had finally turned back to the light. Her heart filled with joy and peace to know Ben was here with her and they were safe.
"Ben." She almost whispered to him, a broad smile spreading across her face. Ben loved it when she called him that. He felt like he was home when he was with her. Because she was his home. And he was ready to do anything to protect her. Rey stretched out her arm to place the palm of her hand upon his cheek. Ben's heart skipped a beat from this gesture. "Could she feel the same way?" He thought. "Could she love me?" Her thumb caressed his face, stroking it up and down. The gentleness and admiration from her touch sent shivers down his spine. Ben furrowed his eyebrows upward at Rey, never had he felt so loved in his life. Just the simple gesture of someone touching his face like that, especially Rey's, made his heart full. He pulled her in tighter to him, so that he could stare into her beautiful, soft, doe eyes. He felt her loving gaze wander down to his lips. Before he even realized what was happening, his lips were instinctively already parting. Rey teased his bottom lip with her thumb. Letting him know what she wanted. He caught his breath sharply as she moved in closer, and then suddenly yet effortlessly smashing her lips onto his. Ben desperately wrapped his strong arm tighter around Rey's small frame, not wanting to miss a second of this. Their lips moved in sync. A smile spread across Ben's face as they kissed. He had never been happier in his life. The girl who had seduced his heart back to the light, the one he has loved for so long, was kissing him. After what felt likes ages, they finally broke the kiss. Rey stared up at him caressing his face again and gently moving his wavy jet black hair away from his eyes. Ben gave her a cheeky big smile, making his dimples show in full glory. Rey's body filled with warmth and happiness after seeing his smile. A smile she didn't know he could ever show. But it was fading. Ben's gaze started to fall as did his smile. Rey furrowed her eyebrows in worry. Something was not right.
"Ben!" She said sharply. He fell backward onto his back with a loud thud that seemed to echo around them. Rey's eyes searched him with shock. When she finally realized what had happened, she broke into tears.
"Ben, please don't go! Be with me." She cried, her voice cracking from tears. How could this happen? He was so happy, and then suddenly, he falls over... dead. She realized at that moment that he had transferred what little life force he had left and given it to her. To bring her back to life as she did for him. She buried her head into his broad chest, sobbing loudly.
"Rey." A voice echoed. Was this her imagination? Was she hearing things now?
"Rey." She heard it again, but firmer this time. She looked upwards, the tears clouding her vision. It was...Luke Skywalker. Rey sat up, shocked. Leia then appeared next to him, both looking sadly down at Ben's now lifeless form.
"Luke! Leia!" Rey almost shouted. "What can I do? He is gone." Rey sobbed. Luke looked down at her, smiling.
"No, Rey." He said softly. She looked at him, confused. She sees blue light fill around her and as she brushes the tears away from her eyes sees the forms of all the Jedi that there everwhere. Rey gasps in disbelieve. They were with her.
"Ben did many terrible things in his life. But we all failed at some points in our lives," Luke starts to say. Rey listens intently. Leia kneels down and touches Ben's face. "Ben sacrificed himself to save you. As did my father for me and I did for the rebellion, for you, Rey. But the Jedi are with you. And the Jedi that once lived have decided to grant Ben a second chance at life." Luke states. Rey's heart fills with hope and joy.
"Wh-what?" Rey gasps. She sees the Jedi start to disappear until only Leia is knelt down next to Ben. She looks at Rey with endearment and takes Rey's hand.
"Take care of my Ben." She says softly. Rey blinks rapidly, still in disbelief of what was happening. Rey nods and smiles. Leia moves in front of Ben and whispers to him, "Come home, Ben." And then she disappears. Rey breathes heavily, watching for Ben to come back to her. She sees the color go back into his face, and his chest moves up and down. He starts to cough and gasps for air. His eyes find Rey's and he smiles once again, looking at her with endearment.
"Rey." He says with love in his voice, his hand shakily reaching to cup her cheeks.
"Ben!" Rey gasps. She brings Ben into a hug and nuzzles her face into his broad neck. She sobbed, trembling in his embrace, not believing that he was back.
"I thought I had lost you." She whispers to him so gently it sent shivers down his back. He holds her so gently but securely.
"You will never lose me, Rey."

*The war is over, peace and balance have been brought to the force once again and Rey and Ben go back to Tatoonie to start a new life.*
Their ship lands on the sandy dunes of Tatoonie behind Luke skywalker's old home. The place where he grew up. Ben hops out of the TIE fighter and reaches to take Rey's hand above him. She smiles and takes it, jumping down into Ben's strong embrace.
"I got you." Ben smiles at her. They both walk over to Luke's old home, hand in hand. The suns were beginning to set, the orange-reddish tint washing the sky. They look down into Luke's home and look back at each other hopeful. They could have a life here. A peaceful and happy life that they never had. But they could with each other. Suddenly they hear an animal grunt from behind them and whip their heads around to see an older woman standing there staring at them. Ben's protective instinct kicks in and he puts his arm in front of Rey. She takes her hand and places it on his forearm, shaking her head. "It's alright. She's safe." Rey reassures Ben. He nods and puts his arm to his side. Rey walks closer to the older woman.
"There's been no one for so long," the older woman says. "Who are you?"
"I'm Rey." She says with confidence and gentleness to her voice.
"Rey who?" Rey furrows her eyebrows and looks at her feet then over her should towards Ben, who was already staring back at her so dearly. Rey gives Ben a small smile and looks back at the woman.
"Rey Solo." She smiles. The old woman nods and continues on her way. Ben skips over to Rey and chuckles.
"Rey Solo, huh?" He smiles at her. Rey laughs a little and stares into the sunset with Ben holding her tightly with his left arm across her shoulders. Ben brushes a piece of Rey's brown hair behind her ear and whispers in her ear, "Rey - ", he starts to say.
"I know." Rey responds.
