Deanna felt herself drifting in and out of reality. She looked up at the truck and almost screamed. She saw him looking straight into her eyes with a dark, and creepy smile stained on his face.
"Why did you try to run?" His muffled voice sent chills down her spine. He hit her, she cant walk now and hes bringing up running. "You cant run any more!" He yelled. The smile didnt turn to rage like she expected. It just stayed there.
"What have you done!" Chris screamed at 'Arlo'. She was relieved to hear his voice because she almost forgot she had a witness, new friend, and help.
"Help!" Deanna screamed again. She didnt know how to react to this situation.
"I alerted the police!" Chris yelled out. He almost seemed like he didnt mean to scream it. She watched him smile to her. She looked back at 'Arlo' and he seemed to be doing something in his truck. She noticed the movements and she stared in fear. He was moving around the stick in his truck.
She recognized the movements and she knew he was going to try killing her then run off.
"HELP!" She screamed for Chris. Chris stared and was frozen. When she screamed she saw his body jolt. He was still shaking and nervous but he ran over and stood above her.
"You want her!?" Chris screamed out at 'Arlo'. "You'll have to go through me." She thought it was cute how he was trying to protect her, but she remembered Aiden and tried to get up. She wanted to live, for him. He would be devastated.
She used all of her strength in her skinny arms to get herself up. She knew she was stronger than this. She dragged herself out of line of the car and rested herself. She needed to relax. Weak! She thought to herself. She couldn't move that much. She started to feel the pain and when she saw where she was, there was a small pool of blood streaming to where she is now.
Her eyes were wide in shock, and her body started to ache. That's why I feel so weak. She noticed. She started to take back the doubt she gave herself.
As 30 seconds passed of fear swirled in the air, it felt like an hour. She realized how 'Arlo' was a very sadistic person. He wasnt going to rape her or anything like that. He was going to hurt her. He was also a psychopath.
Deanna heard the sirens buzzing in the distance. She heard Chris's footsteps. She heard 'Arlos' tires screeching. Finally she heard a loud yell and no more tire screeching. HE HIT CHRIS! She screamed in her head in pure fear. She couldn't move but she could tell he was hit. He was screaming in agony.
Based on his screams Deanna assumed he was worse than her. Or she couldn't feel the pain because she would be paralyzed. As the thoughts came to her she tried to ignore them but she couldn't block them out. She started to sob again. Everything was overwhelming her so much she couldn't take it.
She heard the police cars pull up and she heard the car door of one of them open and slam shut. "WPD GET OUT OF THE CAR!" She heard one of the men scream. Others sounded like they were calling for backup and for ambulance.

After what was actually only a few minutes the ambulance and backup finally arrived. She heard someone run up to her.
"Miss where are you hurt?" The woman spoke with worry for Deanna.
"I dont know." Deanna noticed how shaky her voice was. She must have been scared. She couldn't understand how she was feeling, or if she could even feel pain at this moment. "I saw blood when I dragged myself away from the truck, but I didn't feel pain." She tried to turn around, but she felt fully paralyzed. She let out a scream and tears rolled down her face before she took breaths to calm herself.
"I know this is hard miss but please stay calm." The woman was being really nice like Chris. She needed the kindness after the torture she has gone through with her whole kidnapping. "Get a stretcher!" She heard the woman yell out to the other people.
She was terrified. Was she paralyzed? She didnt want to be! She felt her eyes watering and she just wanted to go back in time to redo all of this. She wish she never used that app. She wish she never listened to Haylee.
"Am I paralyzed?" She said. Her voice seemed to be almost gone. She was overwhelmed, fearful, and most of all numb. "Is Chris okay?" She worried for Chris. If she hadn't taken a walk this wouldnt have happened.
"We will see if you are paralyzed permanently, or if its temporary. And if your talking about that boy, he feels the pain so hopefully just broken bones or something sprained." The Ambulance womans voice soothed Deanna.
After moments of silence, she didnt realize that she was being picked up until she was somewhere else comfortable. As she weakly opened her eyes she was on this perfectly white clothed stretcher. She has, luckily, never had to experience this. She managed to move her head to the truck and Chris.
She saw police taking 'Arlo' into custody. She looked closer and noticed an eery smirk on his face. She moved her head to look at the ground. She noticed her pool of blood and only little drops from Chris. He was laying there all curled up in a ball and crying.
She understood his pain and moved her head so she could look at the night sky. She stared at the stars as everything round her seemed to be going in slow motion. She closed her eyes and made a wish.

Please let me, and Chris be okay.

When she opened them again she was in the back of the ambulance truck being treated the best she could while she was there. She smiled and looked at the people above her.
"Thank you. I wouldnt be okay if it wasnt for your help." She whispered. She felt like glass that was close to being shattered, fragile.
"Were happy your safe." The original woman smiled back at her. Her eyes sparkled and Deanna felt safe.
"May I sleep?" Deanna asked. She didn't want to just close her eyes and die in her sleep.
"You should be fine. You need to be strong and be reunited with your friends and family." She said with a gentle laugh.
Deanna shut her eyes and knew she was safe. She knew she didnt have to worry about him anymore.

She was safe.
