Chapter Five--- Legacy

"Hello and thank you sir, my name is Legacy, this is Kaden, Bolton, and Luna." I said to the man, unsure of what to say.

He looked at us all, and his eyes settled on me, and his expression didn't really change but it softened just enough I noticed. In that moment like in my dreams I have the sensation of warmth and safety wash over me.

"It's been a long time since the goddess allowed me to walk among her people, as a person. I am of the night element; in this shape you can call me Nero." The god like man said to us, or more towards me.

"You mean a man!" Bolten said and laughed about it with Luna.

"You were in my dreams; you just cannot be real." I said not hiding the amazement in my voice.

"Yes, I was able to communicate somewhat, to some people. They are dream elements or dream walkers. However, you are the only person I have been able to connect to in a long time and somehow in your dreams, it's been so many years since I was able to have someone to talk to. I found I was almost able to talk to you in your dreams. Than tonight I heard you calling for help, and when I searched for you, I saw you were not dreaming and I heard the goddess ask if I would choose to help you if I could, and she let me walk out of the night to come to your aide." Nero explained the best he could and in the most words we would get from him

"I don't understand how you know him Legacy?" Kaden demanded to know from me.

"I don't really know him, but I feel connected to him." I replied trying to explain the best I could.

"The goddess gave me a choice and I chose to come to your side Legacy; my loyalty lies there with you and my goddess herself." Nero said so sure of himself, but somehow, I knew that is just his normal tone of his voice.

"I still don't understand." Luna said

"Yeah who are you and where did you come from?" Bolton added interrogating Nero, this stranger to them and in reality, a stranger also to me.

Nero didn't feel like a stranger to me however, he was my friend I found in my dreams, and the friend I found in the darkness. I did not know who this man was, and I have heard all the stories about him, but the stories talk of him in the same words as the goddess, like no one ever knew if he was truly a real person or not. There he was standing in front of me and I felt like I was dreaming, and this was not real, but I knew he was real, and he was there to help us.

"The goddess only sends me to help when she knows I am needed and then I return to the night." Nero said as if that was all we needed to know, as if that told and explained to us what we wanted to know.

I walked towards him, almost drawn to get closer, when between us a stone man, stood facing me, with his body between Nero and myself. I knelt just a little so I can be in better face to face contact with the rock man.

"The dark man, as always it is an honor to see you." The rock man said half bowing to Nero, before turning his stone face to me.

"How are the injured people you have, and I don't know how to ask, but where did you guys come from, I mean I didn't think you were still living among us?" I asked wondering if they hid all this time and maybe this world did not lose as much magic as the elders thought, or just maybe the magic was returning.

"We were just alive lady. One moment we just were here." The charming stone man said just as confused on their sudden appearance as we were.

"Where were you before you were here?" I asked still confused.

"Long ago the magic that gave us life asked us to go find someone and help them if we can, and we said yes and here we are." The stone man explained.
