Dean is a hunter, a man of action, not words, but there is one thing he is most passionate about, and that is those he considers as part of his family. Over the years he has watched his family dwindle, losing so many that he cared about, until it is down to him, his brother Sam, and a very samll handful of others they care enough about to consider as family, but Dean always has this underlying fear that his world will get rocked yet again, and he'll lose someone else he loves. This is a hard fact to live with and so though he loves deeply and completely, he tries not to show just how much for fear of the pain that will come if he loses someone else. But there is something between him and Castiel, something that goes beyond that "bond" they share, that makes him feel more than has ever felt in his life, and that makes him feel alive. He decides he needs to face his fears and face his emotions, and face possible rejection by the one person he begins to realize that he loves more than anything in this world. The idea of love is terrifying, especially in their line of work. At any moment he could lose Cas or Sam, or Charlie, or another member of their family, and that tears at him. In this story Dean is forced to come to terms with his feelings toward Cas, and deal with the reaction he gets from Cas and from his brother. They go up against a foe bigger than they anticipated, and face a battle that will require teamwork and sacrifice. Is Dean Winchester ready for that?
