With the sun slapping my face I woke up feeling dazed. Today was the day that we would be starting a new life. With new people and a new home.

Today is the day mom and I were moving in with David and his son whose name I still don't know.

I get up from my comfortable bed reluctantly and go downstairs to find David already in the living room with my mom, "Good morning." They both turn to look at me At the same time.

"Good morning sweetie did you sleep well?" My mom greeted while David only spared me a glance.

"Yes mom I slept great."

"Well ladies today is the day!! I'll take your big furniture to the trash since you won't need it anymore and then we'll move the rest of the boxes," he said with a big smile on his face and his hands on his hips. Not gonna lie he looked funny doing this and it took all my will power to not laugh.

"Alright well why don't I help you throw out the big furniture since I have nothing else to do?" I say trying to get on his good side and maybe get to know him while we work.

"No, that's fine, moving big things like those isn't a job for a lady, we don't want you getting hurt now do we?" And I considered this to be thoughtful. This man that doesn't know me doesn't want me getting hurt, and sure, I dismissed the "for a lady" comment but at least I could chill with my mom.

So, I walked towards the tiny kitchen and started helping my mom pack the dishes in some more brown ugly boxes. Lord how I was starting to hate those boxes.

When we were all done, David came and put the heavy boxes in the back of his truck, and then mom and I bid our goodbyes to the tiny apartment and on our way we went.

The ride there was a comfortable silence with only the radio playing so soft, I had to strain my ears to hear it.

I leaned my head on the window and observed my surroundings. At first all I saw was familiar things, the neighborhoods, the stores, the gas stations. And then after about 20 minutes it was all new to me. New stores that looked expensive, new gas stations that didn't look like they were broken into, new neighborhoods that were bigger and prettier and more expensive looking. And while looking at one of those neighborhoods I realize we were turning into the neighborhood. I mean to live in one of these houses has been my dream. With a big balcony and a big back yard and a pool behind the house. I notice all the expensive cars around and admiring a particular car, I notice we're turning into where the car is parked. Astonished I put my hands on the window as I gape at the car with my mouth opened. As soon as the car stops I unbuckle my seatbelt and hop off ready to admire the car up close.

"Woah!! Is this car yours Mr. David?"

"It's my son's, why?" He says bluntly and with boredom.

"I just- I've always dreamt of having a car like this one, and now I can actually see it in real life!"

"This car isn't really for women though I hope you know that. And it's my son's I doubt he'll ever let you borrow it. Let's just go inside and I'll show you to your room," he says pulling me away from the gorgeous blue car and into the big house.

The house, both white on the inside and outside, was so beautiful and I admired who ever did the interior design and the decor. It was both coherent and extravagant while also being classy somehow. There was a grand staircase at the entrance with two entrances at the sides to what I assumed were the kitchen and the living room.
