American Horror Story: Freak Show One Shot

"Come on." Jimmy tried to pull you away. "We'll go somewhere else where they don't discriminate based on what somebody looks like." He tried pulling on your arm but you refused to let the injustice carry on. "Let's go."

"No." The defiant smile on the bigots face slowly disappeared as his blotchy skin began to match the pale rosiness of his lips. "I'm not leaving until we get what we ordered."

"You will leave, or I'll make you leave." His hand slowly reached under the counter and emerged tightly clutching a bat. "I don't want this to get ugly, not that it could get much uglier than those things, so just go."

"What're you gonna do?" Jimmy pushed past you as soon as he saw the weapon. "You put that thing anywhere near them and it'll be the last thing you ever do." One by one the patrons left their ice cream to melt on the table as they hurried out from the shop.

"What am I gonna do? What do you think you're gonna do lobster boy? What side do you think the police are for huh? The sweet ice cream parlor owner or some hide away freak who wrongly decided to emerge from the shadows for once in your pitiful life?" His laugh bellowed around the almost empty shop.

"Watch your back." Jimmy ushered you towards the exit. "I've got friends you couldn't imagine in your worst nightmares."

"You don't scare me, freak. I've seen you show, nothing but special effects and scams.

Jimmy rushed past you once you had left the shop.

"Hold up, where are you going?"

"I need to get back to camp." You struggled to keep up as he marched through the streets towards his home. "This sorta shit happens all the time, it's about time these assholes learnt their lesson."

"Stop, stop." You managed to cut in front of him, stopping him from walking any further. "Just take a minute, breathe. It's disgusting that they talk to you guys like that, I know. It doesn't have to ruin our day though." He laughed but stopped abruptly and leant over a newspaper box. "We can go get ice cream or whatever somewhere else."

"You don't get it. It doesn't matter where we go the reactions the same. It's fine if you pass for a normal person." He held his infamous hands out in front of him. "Maybe we shouldn't be together anymore."
