I walked out of the apprentices den and see my mom and dad cuddling. I purr seeing them comfortable together. I walk away for my training. I see my mentor, spiderleg there. I walk to him and he runs to me I jump and pretend to claw his back with my sheathed claws. He says "that'd be a powerful attack if your claws were unsheathed." My eyes glitter and I say "really?" He nodded and said "yes. Really." We train more and I got tired. He noticed and said "we can train tomorrow." I was happy and waiting for Mousefur to eat her prey at the fresh-kill pile. When she's finished, I eat my prey. After that Firestar assigns me to a border patrol. I checked the border with the patrol when I hear a cat. I asked "who's there? And why?" I find the cat below the bushes and they hiss and attack me in the eye! I yowl and they run away! Some cat heard me and called the medicine cat. Cinderpelt put cobwebs and celandine on my injured eyes. I flinch as it hurts when she puts the herbs on my eyes. I know these herbs because Cinderpelt told me during an epidemic with mice. I still don't don't know why she chose me but she did. When she was finished she told me "I can't do anything with your eye. But I can treat the wounds." I know she can't but I wish she could. I need to take revenge on that cat! I decided to look for the cat. When I found the cat I was surprised when I discovered it was a girl. It whimpered when I walked to it. I felt pretty bad so I sat down and asked why she came to the border. She said "um... I-i cc-came the first ti-ttime to as-ask for her-hherbs." She was shaking and stuttering a lot so I could tell she was scared of me. I said "ok. I understand if you're scared of me. But, you don't have to attack me." She looked guilty and said "I didn't mean to attack your eye. Just your leg." I replied with "what's your name?" She said "My name is star. Why?" I replied with "Nothing. Just asking. Follow me." I walk to the medicine cat den and Star followed. She poked her head through and hesitantly walked to Cinderpelt. She lifted her head higher to meet her eyes. Cinderpelt seemed confused and asked who it was. I replied with "This is Star. She is looking for herbs. Can u help her?" She nodded and said "sure." Star calmed down and cinderpelt asked "What happened to you?" She replied with "I found another rogue and ran up a tree. When they left I accidentally slipped down a branch. And my leg is broken. Can you help?" I was guilty that I didn't notice her limping. Cinderpelt replied with "I can give you herbs to help the pain but the bone will heal." Star nodded and asked "So where can I stay to heal?" I glance at her and say "here of course, but we have to ask someone." Then I turn away. Then I walk to Firestar and say "Fire star, is it OK if a rogue stays?" He looks at me and replies "why?" I tell him the story of what happened to Star and her name. He says "Sure! Does Cinderpelt know?" I nodded and said "yes. I bought her to the medicine cat's den when I first returned to camp. He sighs with relief and says "Ok. But only now if she wants to." I nodded and sleep in the apprentices den and dream of what I done. Wow! I did that and I'm still an apprentice! I sleep with no interruption. I couldn't be happier.
