I wake up to the smell of food drifting into the room. Now that is something I would always appreciate waking up to. I could do without the pounding headache though. Slowly sitting up I see Lucas sitting at the table facing away from me and eating. I honestly wasn't even surprised he had started without me.
“You know, you could have woken me up,” I say causing Lucas to quickly turn around.
“I thought I would just let you get some sleep,” he says with a shrug standing up.
Lucas then comes back to me with a bowl of ramen and some medicine for me to take.
“Look now you can stop complaining,” he says with a fake grin.
“I wasn’t complaining I was just stating a fact.”
He doesn't answer and just sits down on the chair that wasn't far from the couch. Kicking up the footrest he turns on the tv. I just roll my eyes and go back to eating my food. I was starving and would never complain about ramen. Just then my phone starts ringing which is conveniently sitting on the stand at the other side of the couch.
“Hey Lucas, could you hand me my phone?” I ask not wanting to get up.
“Why don't you get it yourself?” he says annoyed while looking back at the tv.
“I was asking since you’re literally right there,” I say grabbing the phone and quickly answering it before it stops ringing.
Before I could say anything Lainey’s voice comes blasting through the phone, “so how's it going!!!”
“First off you don't need to yell and just give me a second,” I say standing up and heading to the guest room. “Okay what were you wanting to talk about?”
“About how’s it going you know with Lucas in all!”
“Nothing is going at all. I got woken up early to go to the gym, forced to go to the grocery store, then grabbed off the street, beat up and then been having to deal with taht stupid jerk.”
“It couldn't of been that bad. I bet Lucas was the one to come save you.”
“Yeah but that doesn't mean anything. We literally started arguing the second we got back and he got food without thinking of waking me up.”
"Well you were both stressed out. You guys would be so cute together."
"Yeah sure we would," I say sarcastically.
"Yes, you would. Anyway are you okay after today's adventure?"
"Yeah just a few scrapes and cuts and sore ribs but I'm okay."
"Well I've got to go since Kayden has planned a date night for us."
"Okay I'll talk to you later."
"Will do and I hope you feel better!"
After we say are goodbyes I hang up and lay back on the bed.
Everything hurt and I tried everything to ignore the pain. How do you sleep when your in so much pain? I crawl back up and get changed into sweats and a sweatshirt. I lay back down and focus on breathing. That's when my stomach lurches. I get up rushing into my bathroom and end up losing my dinner. I cleaned up and slowly headed back to my room.
I messily braid my hair back to keep it out of my sweaty face. Laying back down I wrap my blanket around me. I look up as the door slowly opens shining in the light from the hall and Lucas stepping in.
"I just wanted to see if you need anything before you went to bed," he says quietly.
"I dunno," I mumble shrugging my shoulders.
"Are you feeling okay?" he says walking closer. Before I could even respond, the back of his hand was on my forehead. "I think you have a temperature," he says pulling back.
"I know I already threw up," I say turning my back to him.
"Do you want me to get you anything for it?"
"No I'm just tired and want to sleep."
"Okay then I guess I'll just see you in the morning," he says, heading back to the door.
"Night," I mumble.
"Good night," I hear him say before shutting the door behind him.
